One Adoption = TWO Lives Saved: #RememberMeThursday

Today is Remember Me Thursday, a worldwide campaign that shines a light on orphan pets waiting in shelters and rescues, and the beauty and life-saving importance of pet adoption. Since that’s pretty much what we try to do 24/7/365, we think a day dedicated to helping the world #SeeTheLight about this stuff is pretty exciting.

As we thought about what we could do to shine a light on orphan pets for this special day, it struck us that we have lots of photos of cats who have come through the doors of PAWS on their way to their forever homes. Each time one of those kitties was adopted meant there was now a space at the shelter for another orphan cat waiting to find its forever family. In short, when one shelter animal is adopted, TWO lives are saved.

Here’s a collage of some of the PAWS cats who have recently been adopted. Friends and regular visitors will surely recognize some of these faces!

Of course, there are still lots of cats (and dogs) still here and elsewhere waiting to find loving homes. If you’re in a position to adopt, and happen to live in the Norwalk, CT area, be sure to check out all the adoptable PAWS cats here. If you live too far to do that, we can say with all the confidence in the world that there are so many wonderful and adoptable cats and other pet animals at your local shelter/rescue! Who knows? Maybe today's the day you'll find your new best friend, and save two lives while you're at it!

Thank you BOTH for all you do on behalf of so many cats in need of homes ... your contributions over the years ... and continuing even now, have been immeasurable.
Your devotion and commitment is amazing not just to the PAWS shelter but to the
community in which you live.
Ann, and June ... an adopted kitty who yes, save two!

Aww, I didn't know yesterday was Remember Me Thursday. That's great! And I love the collage of recent adoptees! I always love the follow-ups you do sometimes on the kitties who've been adopted. All of our babies are rescues and I can't imagine them not having been given the chance at long, happy lives.

That's so true! Most people probably don't realize that two lives are being saved. Thank you for shining a light on pet adoption every day!

Great post with all those precious souls. When I came home with the peeps, THREE lives were saved cos Pop might not have survived being home for 6 weeks if he didn't have me with him.
