Check out our sweet and adoptable friend, Georgie. Her loving and gentle nature flies directly in the face of that age-old belief about tortoiseshell cats having "tortitude." You'll get none of that stuff with Georgie, and we can attest to the fact that she adores everyone she meets, and loves being pet and hanging with her human pals!

On another, sort of related note, this is our 1,500th post! Since Tracey started Animal Shelter Volunteer Life back in December 2008, we've befriended more than 7,000 kitties who have made their way through the doors of PAWS, and shared about more than 1,250 of them in this space. We get such joy from helping these amazing cats find their forever families, and it's our honor to be able to share them with all of you. Thank you, dear friends and followers, for sharing in our journey, and for your continued love and encouragement. They -- and you -- mean the world to us!

Georgie is beautiful! I love her markings. Her story sounds a lot like our Tara's; she also came to the shelter with her kittens and was the last one adopted, and she doesn't have the usual tortitude at all. I think our Caroline must have Tara and Georgie's shares of tortitude!
Oh, and congrats on 1500 posts! That's incredible!

Georgie looks very sweet - I want to go over and pet her virtually! And she reminds me a bit of another very friendly tortie with a similar name: the late Georgia who lived with our mutual friend Nancy in Nova Scotia :)
