(Almost) Wordless Jeepers and Buzz

In our Sunday post, we promised we'd share about the two other cats who came to PAWS with Doodle and Hunter. We always aim to keep our promises, so without further ado, we present to you Jeepers and Buzz!

Buzz

You can certainly see from their photos these young mancats are super handsome. But they're not just pretty faces. We can vouch that they are also friendly, sweet, and gentle! And as you can see from the first photo, they also happen to be pals, so it would be wonderful if they could be adopted together. Buzz is about 10 months old, while Jeepers is about 2 1/2 years old. Having come from a home with way too many kitties, both get along well with other cats. And even though they are slightly shy when meeting new people, they also like humans (and Party Mix) a lot. Both boys are neutered, current on their vaccinations, and negative for FIV and FeLV. They're so ready to find their forever loving home. Could it be with you?

Selfies by Hunter

Some of you probably remember last week's selfie with adorable ginger cat Doodle. Well, another one of the wonderful kitties - Hunter - who came in together with Doodle wanted to try his own paw at the selfie thing. And judging from Hunter's photos, this mancat's got some skills!

One year-old Hunter is a sweet and gentle boy. He, Doodle, and their friends Jeepers and Buzz (we'll feature them in a future post) came to PAWS from a house with way too many felines. Hunter gets along famously with other cats and likes hanging out with his human buddies. He would do well in almost any home, and we hope the purrfect forever family discovers him soon. Hunter is neutered, current on his vaccinations, and negative for FIV and FeLV. Come meet this good boy today!

One Adoption = TWO Lives Saved: #RememberMeThursday

Today is Remember Me Thursday, a worldwide campaign that shines a light on orphan pets waiting in shelters and rescues, and the beauty and life-saving importance of pet adoption. Since that’s pretty much what we try to do 24/7/365, we think a day dedicated to helping the world #SeeTheLight about this stuff is pretty exciting.

As we thought about what we could do to shine a light on orphan pets for this special day, it struck us that we have lots of photos of cats who have come through the doors of PAWS on their way to their forever homes. Each time one of those kitties was adopted meant there was now a space at the shelter for another orphan cat waiting to find its forever family. In short, when one shelter animal is adopted, TWO lives are saved.

Here’s a collage of some of the PAWS cats who have recently been adopted. Friends and regular visitors will surely recognize some of these faces!

Of course, there are still lots of cats (and dogs) still here and elsewhere waiting to find loving homes. If you’re in a position to adopt, and happen to live in the Norwalk, CT area, be sure to check out all the adoptable PAWS cats here. If you live too far to do that, we can say with all the confidence in the world that there are so many wonderful and adoptable cats and other pet animals at your local shelter/rescue! Who knows? Maybe today's the day you'll find your new best friend, and save two lives while you're at it!

(Almost) Wordless Delphine

Our new friend Delphine is quite the stunner. Just look at that luxurious coat, that pretty face, and those amazing eyes (one blue, and one gold). Top it off with the adorable way she tilts her head just so for the camera, and this kitty is irresistible!

This gentle and affectionate little cutie is as sweet as she is beautiful. Delphine came to PAWS after being found as a pregnant stray. At just a little more than a year old, she had her babies when she was barely out of kittenhood herself! Now that her kittens have been adopted, Delphine is ready to find her happily ever after, too. She is current on her vaccinations and negative for FIV and FeLV, and will be spayed soon. Come meet her today, and fall in love!

Doodle's Easy Like Sunday Selfies

As you can see from his super selfies, our pal Doodle knows a thing or two about modeling. If you also sense a mega chill vibe about him, you'd be right on target. In fact, this ginger mancat is the complete package -- handsome, loving, and sweet!

Doodle is about one year old. He came to PAWS from a home where there were too many cats. At first, he was a bit overwhelmed here at the shelter, but with lots of love and attention (and treats!), it waSn't long before his sweet nature emerged in full force. He is truly a delightful little dude who gets along well with other cats and adores his human friends. Doodle is neutered, current on his vaccinations, and negative for FIV and FeLV. He's totally  ready to meet his new forever best friend! Could it be you?

(Almost) Wordless Georgie / 1500 Posts

Check out our sweet and adoptable friend, Georgie. Her loving and gentle nature flies directly in the face of that age-old belief about tortoiseshell cats having "tortitude." You'll get none of that stuff with Georgie, and we can attest to the fact that she adores everyone she meets, and loves being pet and hanging with her human pals!

Georgie, who is just a little more than one year old, came to PAWS as a very young (and excellent) mother. Now that her beautiful babies have been adopted, Georgie is ready to find her own forever home where she can be the baby. She's spayed, current on her vaccinations, negative for FIV and FeLV, and she promises to be the best forever friend for whoever is lucky enough to adopt her. Could it be you?

💖

On another, sort of related note, this is our 1,500th post! Since Tracey started Animal Shelter Volunteer Life back in December 2008, we've befriended more than 7,000 kitties who have made their way through the doors of PAWS, and shared about more than 1,250 of them in this space. We get such joy from helping these amazing cats find their forever families, and it's our honor to be able to share them with all of you. Thank you, dear friends and followers, for sharing in our journey, and for your continued love and encouragement. They -- and you -- mean the world to us!

Sweeney's Selfies

Check out our sweet and adoptable buddy Sweeney. Is he amazing, or what?

Sweeney is one of those kitties you read about who just show up one day in a community cat colony. He's such a friendly and gentle dude that there's little doubt he was just "dropped" into the colony by someone. Luckily for him, one of the nice humans who helps manage that colony realized immediately that this "new" kitty was not feral, and was, in fact a very nice mancat who would make a great forever friend for some lucky human. Sweeney, who is about four years old, is now at PAWS, neutered, current on his vaccinations, and negative for FIV and FeLV. He loves people, and gets along great with other nice cats. Sweeney is all dressed up in his tuxedo and ready to find his happily ever after. Is it with you?

(Almost) Wordless Guy

It's time for another installment of "We Can't Understand Why [amazingly adoptable cat's name here] Still Hasn't Been Adopted." Today's contestant is our friendly and adorable buddy Guy. Just look at him!

Your eyes aren't playing tricks on you. Guy is as sweet as he looks, playful, gets along with other nice cats, and loves people. It truly is a mystery to all of us as to why he's still waiting to find his forever home.

We have our fingers and paws crossed that Guy's happily ever after is just around the corner. In the meantime, don't worry ... all of the PAWS volunteers and staff will keep on giving him all the love and attention he deserves. He is only a little over one year old, neutered, current on his vaccinations, and negative for FIV and FeLV. Come meet Guy today!

Selfies by Hank

Sometimes what you see is exactly what you get. And that's certainly the case with our handsome, super sweet, and adoptable friend Hank. Just look at his face, and you can see the love! Hank truly is as gentle as they come.

Hank ended up at PAWS after being found at a demolition site. It turns out his family had been evicted and the home was being torn down. Hank was so glad to be rescued that he was purring and rubbing his face on everyone in sight -- including the friendly neighborhood dog! It just shows how much love this mancat has to give, and demonstrates that he would be a great fit for almost any loving forever home. Hank is about two years old, neutered, current on his vaccinations, and negative for FIV and FeLV. He's ready to find his happily ever after. Is it with you?
