(Almost) Wordless Emily - with short video!

Do you remember our gorgeous, sweet and adoptable friend, Emily? And how we wondered why she was still awaiting her forever home? Well ... we're still wondering.

Emily can be a little shy with new people, so she doesn't always show well to potential adopters. But we're hoping this video will help everyone see that she really is the most loving kitty ever! And why she's a real favorite among the PAWS volunteers and staff. (If the video doesn't play for you, you may also check it out on YouTube)

You can read more about Emily here. She's going to be a great, snuggly best friend for whoever is lucky enough to adopt her!

Easy Like Sunday Seflies - Juliet

Happy Sunday! As we've done a few times before, we're mashing up our Sunday memes today, with a little bit of selfie, and a couple of sprinkles of easy. And who better to help us than our adorable and adoptable friend Juliet? She started things off with her selfie...

And here's her "Easy Like Sunday Morning" pose...

And how about a easy-selfie combination? :)
Juliet is about 1 1/2 years old. She's outgoing, playful, friendly, and loves attention. She's never lived with cats, but we know from her former family that she gets along with nice dogs. Juliet is spayed, micro-chipped, current on her vaccinations and negative for FIV and FeLV. Come meet this sweetheart today, and fall in love!

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday - Paxil Cat

We're not really sure how our gorgeous new friend Paxil got her name. But the moniker actually fits her well. After all, the drug called Paxil is an antidepressant, and our cat pal Paxil is a kitty who spreads a special brand of happiness to everyone she meets.

This super friendly girl likes to play, and loves hanging out with her human volunteer buddies. She also gets along well with other nice kitties, and would make a great addition to almost any home. Paxil is about 1 year old, spayed, micro-chipped, current on her vaccinations, and negative for FIV and FeLV. Need an infusion of happiness? Want your happy home to be even happier? Want to laugh and smile every day? Then Paxil is the kitty for you! Come meet her at PAWS today.

Easy Like Sunday Selfie - Ethel :)

Talk about photogenic! When we asked our new friend Ethel if she wanted to take part in this week's Sunday Selfies Blog Hop (hosted by our close pals at the Cat on My Head), she put on a veritable modeling clinic.
At first, Ethel was a little shy about coming out of her cage. But she's quickly figuring out that the humans here at PAWS are pretty nice (and that they give pets and scritches ... and catnip ... and food!). 😸

Ethel is about 2 1/2 years old. She is spayed, micro-chipped, current on her vaccinations, and has tested negative for FIV and FeLV. Ethel is playful and has loads of purrsonality. She gets along fine with other nice cats, but would also be happy as an only kitty. Come meet Ethel today, and fall in love!

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday - Peaches :)

This cutie patootie is our adoptable new friend, Peaches. And yes, she really is this adorable (more, in fact) in person.💖

Snuggles from Auntie Tracey
Enjoying a little Bird TV
Showing her serious side
And her not-so-serious side :)
Peaches is about 7 months old. She's sweet, playful, and ready to impart her special brand of joy to her forever home. Peaches is spayed, micro-chipped, current on her vaccinations, and negative for FIV and FeLV. Now all she needs is a loving best friend to adopt her. Is it you?

FURever Home Friday! :)

Hip hip hooray! It's time for another edition of FURever Home Friday, our periodic post about the lucky PAWS cats who've found their happily ever afters. You'll see many of the kitties we've featured here in the past (including some long-timers and extra special friends) on the list of newest alumni. There's a lot of exciting news to share, so let's get this party started!

Brothers (and longtime PAWS residents) Sparky and Shadow have been adopted together! We're told by their new mom's sister (a friend and former PAWS volunteer) that these two are sure to be spoiled rotten (and deservedly so).

Shadow

Remember sweet and handsome Hemingway, who had surgery to remove his badly injured rear leg? You'll be happy to know he's doing super well in his forever home. :)

Senior cat Buddy, who was loved by PAWS volunteers and staff for 3 1/2 years, now has his very own forever mom (friend and fellow volunteer Kim)! She says he spends lots of time looking out the window, and we can't say we blame him one bit. Enjoy your new home (and that view), Buddy!

Senior ladycat Artemis was adopted, too! Her new mom says Artie's doing great (check out the "Happy Tails" section below). So cute!

Artemis

Artie's PAWS senior ladycat roomie, Phoebe, also found her happily ever after. Be sure to read about how she's doing with her permanent foster Mom in the "Happy Tails" section!

Wait! The party's not over yet! Here are some "Happy Tails Tales" about how some former PAWS cats are doing in their forever homes:

“Phoebe is doing wonderfully. She was shy at first, and denned herself in our guest room which was the most like her old office at PAWS. She now ventures out as she pleases and I've been able to move her food and litter box downstairs to where I wanted them which gets her moving about and getting to know the whole house. She's an old lady so she sleeps a lot but she is accustomed to us now and very affectionate. She is eating and drinking well. She prefers the KD tuna which I mix with a little regular tuna and a lot of water to make a slurry. She adores it and gets extra water that way. Our other kitties loved that too, and they made it to 17+. No problems doing her fluids. She doesn't even squeak or squirm and it only takes a few minutes.”

“Artemis is on a mission. She waits at the door of the room she has been staying in and as soon as I open the door, she walks right out into the hallway with 3 dogs and 2 cats. There was a bit of growling the first couple times but not too bad. I don't think the dogs are going to be a problem for her. She is playing with her toys, walking around her room more often and I dare say she seems very happy. I also picked her up and brought her to the front door to look outside so she could feel the sun and the nice weather. She seemed to really enjoyed it, but after a few minutes she was unsure and I brought her back to her room. She's making great leaps and bounds and gets more comfortable every day.”

“Garfield is doing SO well! He hid under the couch for a little while last night but after only an hour or so he came and sat with us on the couch, explored his new home, and ate well. I'd say he's a happy boy. We love him so much!”

Happy weekend, everybuddy! 💖

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday - Bella 😺

Those who've been following our blog for a while may remember our gorgeous torbie (tabby and tortie) friend, Bella.
Comfy and cozy in the newspaper bin!
Bella isn't a cuddly lap cat by any means, but she does enjoy the company of the humans she trusts. Tracey and I are blessed to be two such humans, and we love hanging out with her. She always makes us smile! Her likes include: catnip, playing with ballpoint pens, catnip, laying in the newspaper bin, and catnip. :)

Bella is about 8 1/2 years old. She's spayed, micro-chipped, current on her vaccinations, and has tested negative for FIV and FeLV. She was previously adopted, but returned to PAWS through no fault of her own. Now she just needs another chance at the forever home she so deserves. We hope her new best friend finds her soon.

Sunday Selfie Babies :)

OMC! Look what we found in Cat Room 8 when we arrived at PAWS last weekend. SIX sweet, super friendly and adorable kittens!

Here's Bridget (aka "Tater Tot"), who is the room's official greeter. She loves everybody she meets, and as you can see, she's a stone cold cutie pie. :)

And here's super snuggly housepanther Samsung. We found out today that Samsung has been ADOPTED!

Little tuxie Sharp may look a little grumpy in this photo, but don't be fooled. This kitten is a little love bug.

Sony is calm, gentle, curious and ADOPTED! He went home with his new family this weekend.

Calypso is a little more reserved than the other kittens in the room. But just pet her, and she purrs like a Mack truck!

Last but not least, here's beautiful Sylvania (look at her cool facial markings)! Like all of the others, she's super sweet and adoptable.

Sony and Samsung have already found their forever homes. We're certain it won't be long until Sharp, Bridget, Sylvania and Calypso find theirs, too.💖

To see more of these babies, check out this post at our friend and fellow volunteer Maggie's awesome Shelter Cats blog!

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday, with Wags :)

What's Who's black and white with an adorable little bunny tail, and handsome all over? That would be our sweet new friend, Wags!

Wags: Who, me?

Wags came to PAWS with a bad tail injury, and all but a little stub had to be removed. Not to worry, though. He doesn't seem to miss the rest of his tail, and his zest for living has quickly made him a volunteer favorite. He loves people, and is super friendly, playful, and all around man-catly!

Wags is about 3 1/2 years old, neutered, micro-chipped, current on his vaccinations, and negative for FIV and FeLV. He can get a little carried away when he plays, so he would do best in a home without really young children. He gets along with other non-dominant kitties, but would also be fine and happy as your one and only. Come meet Wags (aka your new best friend) today! :)
