Each and every cat that finds itself at PAWS is precious and loved, but certain ones touch the hearts of the volunteers and staff in a special way. Our beautiful pal Truffle is one of those cats. Truffle can be spunky, and doesn't always "show well" to potential adopters. But those of us who know and love her will tell you with great conviction that she is also sweet, playful and full of love. That's why it made us so incredibly sad that Truffle had been at the shelter for more than 6 years. She always handled being there with great aplomb, but lately it seemed that depression had set in. She just wasn't her normal self, and she needed a way out ASAP.
Well, thank goodness for friends. One of Truffle's best human pals, PAWS volunteer Chris R., decided that enough was enough. He is now Truffle's permanent foster dad. For those of you wondering what that means, it's as close to being adopted as Truffle can get without actually being adopted. She now lives with Chris and his cat Tumble, and will do so forever (unless someone decides to adopt Miss Truffle). She will not return to PAWS, except for checkups. Truffle now has lots of space, windows to look out of, sunpuddles to lay in, and lots of attention from her Chris. We are over the moon that this special kitty is finally in a real, loving home. Thank you, Chris and Tumble, for rescuing our friend Truffle. :)
Also finding their happily ever afters were shy and timid brothers Hippity and Hoppity. Like Truffle, these guys were passed over time and again because they didn't show well to potential adopters. We were overjoyed and grateful to hear that Hippity and Hoppity's new family fell in love with them, and that they are willing to give them the time and space they need in order to trust and blossom as we know they will. :)

"One

"Here is an update on Biddy who was adopted in September after spending two years with you. She is happy and looking very healthy."

Aww, congrats to you all!
Congratulations to all the kitties, and a special paws up to Truffle! I'm so happy that she has a home now.
Wow, this is the best post of yours in awhile!
We love these happy ending stories! Paws up to Truffle for finding her home! YAY!
Thank you Chris! This list raises my spirits and gives us all hope for happy ever afters.

This is one of the best stories ever. We are glad Truffles has Chris.
We're thrilled for all the adoptees, but especially Truffle, for her permanent foster home.
"Show well" -- we guess it depends on what a person expects. Our human falls for the quiet, shy, scared, sometimes sick ones every time. (That's how Annie and Nicki suckered her in. Ha.)
As a fellow PAWS volunteer, I could not be happier right now! Not only am I thrilled about Truffle, Hippity and Hoppity, but the update stories warm my heart as well. Thanks for the wonderful blogpost!
That is so exciting for Truffle. Thank you so much Chris for taking Truffle home. You are a super person. And so glad so many have been adopted. Great news.
Yep, Adoption Fridays are always good days. We're so glad for Truffle - and even gladder that she could stay at PAWS as long as she did.
We are so happy for Truffle that she has a permanent foster family. We are so happy for all the other cats who have found their furever homes this week.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
It is nice to see some happy endings :)
I love your FURever Home Friday posts! I am so happy for Truffle, Hippity and Hoppity, and all of the cats who have been adopted! Purrs!
Best news *ever* about our sweet Truffle!!! That beautiful girl has been waiting for far too long for a home to call her own.
That's an amazing story. Truffle must be mighty happy to come home with a foster parent that will love and care for her for a very very long time. Give my regards to Chris R. The world needs more people like him.
Congratulations on the new graduates.
Awww, I love it when these precious ones find their forever homes. So wonderful.
Have a purrfect Feline Friday. ☺
YAY FOR ADOPTIONS!! xoxo
Happy faces and happy tails!
That brought leaky eyes to mommy. Thank you Truffle's new Daddy. Thank you so much. And you other babies, congratulations. That makes mommy's day.
I'm so happy for Truffle to have found her permanent foster home after all these years. And yay for Hippity and Hoppity to have found forever home together!

That is great news for all the kitties, especially Truffle.

I love these posts. It really makes me teary...in a good way! ~xo~
So glad to hear that the volunteers are taking such good care of the kitties. We had to surrender one of our kitties due to a persistent "litter box" issue. I felt so bad, but we just couldn't take it any more. He was one of the shy ones, so I hope he had someone kind to love him and help people see what a good cat he could be once he got to know you. I'd even taught him some tricks and I made sure to tell them because I hoped it would make him more adoptable. Thanks for spending your time to volunteer with these critters, I know they appreciate it! #Friendship Friday
We love happy endings! We're especially happy for Truffles - a big thanks to kind-hearted Chris!
I love happy endings and Max's picture makes me happy.. he so reminds me of Alex!
So wonderful to hear that Chris R. has opened his home & heart (although it sounds like Truffle HAD his heart, already) to Truffle. She's beautiful. I just know she's gonna thrive in such a loving home.

I am happy Truffles found a home. I do not understand how animals end up staying years at a shelter.
I'm so happy for all of the adopted kitties, but especially Truffles. That is wonderful news! :-)
Hooray for Truffles! Why not just adopt her if she’s not gonna be at the shelter? No one will be able to see her.
Aw, so happy that Miss Truffles is home at last XOXOXOXO to Chris and Tumble too for welcoming her.
PepiSmartDog: brilliant news for Truffle! It doesn't get any better than that.
And for the 2 brothers too.
Your right about whether a cat or dog "shows" well, My 2 Siamese sisfurs did NOT show well at all and they both failed foster miserably. They were both about to be euthanised (within the hour) as they were individually labelled "Unhomeable" - they are sisters since 6 weeks old - and were together for 6 years, then split up at the shelter, after their loving owners had to live overseas. Grrrrr to shelter for splitting them up.
Well - they have been with us for years now and are the BEST most loving cats anyone could ask for. They just needed a chance.
So I'm glad Truffles is getting her chance now. XXX.
Thank you for joining our Thankful Thursday Weekly Blog Hop.
Always enjoy your posts and look forward to reading what fun you got up to this week. *waves paw* :=o)
Then both had total freak outs
Hooray for all the kitties who find loving homes.
Yay for Truffle, how wonderful! And congrats to all fab PAWS kitties on their new forever homes, we wish them long, happy, healthy lives ahead!
So pleased to see that a lot of your cats are adopted, particularly Truffle, we have four rescues.
The volunteers are all so special and do a fantastic job.
Hi everyone. I enjoy reading your comments and thanks a bunch for all your thoughts. I'd like to give a quick update on Truffles. She's doing great! It's been almost 3 months since she arrived in her new home. She adjusted right away and has been a wonderful family member ever since. Enjoy the 4th! - Dad Chris, Truffle and Tumble (cat #1)
