Selfies with Chungus

Valentine's Day is just around the corner. If you're looking for a big ol' hunk of love, look no further. Our pal Chungus is the most definitely the mancat for you!

Okay, we know you're wondering about how Chungus got his name (we certainly were when we first met him). We're told it's a mashup of his former name, "Chunky Gus." This big and gentle guy was rescued after being unceremoniously dumped in a feral cat colony with no idea how to care for himself. He's about 4 years old, neutered, and current on his vaccinations. He's super sweet and friendly, and even lived harmoniously with dogs and cats in his foster home.

Chungus has tested positive for FIV, but it's important to remember this does not mean he can't live a long and happy life. According to Best Friends Animal Society, "FIV-positive cats can live normal lives, both in quality and duration. They just need to be monitored for infections and dental issues. But if they’re well cared for, they can be healthy, happy, wonderful pets." FIV cannot be passed to other cats through casual contact, or by sharing food, water, or a litter box. Nor can it be passed to people or other pet species.

Chungus is so ready to find his happily ever after. Is it with you?

(Almost) Wordless Bobby

As the saying goes, the pictures don't lie. As you can see in these snaps from this past weekend, our friendly and adoptable pal Bobby is handsome as they come. He also happens to be super friendly and adores chilling out with his human buddies (we know this from first-hand experience)!

Bobby, who is about one year old, ended up at PAWS after being found outside by some good citizens. We sure are glad he is here, safe and loved while he waits to find his forever home. Bobby is neutered, current on his vaccinations, and negative for FIV and FeLV. He will most definitely be a great best friend for whoever is lucky enough to adopt him. Come meet Bobby today, and fall in love!

Selfies by Tinsel

And now, for your selfie viewing pleasure, we present our sleek, friendly, and gorgeous friend Tinsel. As you can see, this lady housepanther definitely knows a thing or two about posing for the camera!

One year-old Tinsel ended up at PAWS when her owner could no longer take care of her. We are told she has lived with cats, dogs, and kids, and loves them all. We can tell you with certainty that she loves hanging out with her human pals at the shelter. Tinsel is spayed, current on her vaccinations, and negative for FIV and FeLV. If she sounds pretty much purrfect, it's because she is! Now all Tinsel needs is to be discovered by her new forever family. We hope they find her soon.

(Almost) Wordless Hashbrown

If you think of hash browns as a side dish, you probably haven't met our awesome and adoptable pal Hashbrown. He's handsome, gentle, and sweet as can be. Side dish? No way. Star of the show? Most definitely!

Hashbrown, who is about 8 months old, is super outgoing and loves people and cats alike. He came to PAWS with his buddies Rudy and Sophia after they were discovered in an outdoor hoarding situation. Hashbrown is neutered, current on his vaccinations, and negative for FIV and FeLV. All he needs now is a forever home! Is it with you?

Sylvia's Selfie

Anyone who visits PAWS Cat Room 5 is sure to be welcomed by our beautiful and adoptable friend Sylvia. She adores people, and has quickly become the official greeter in this open (cageless) room! One thing about cats who run to greet you is that it can be a real challenge to get them to sit still for a proper portrait. Imagine our surprise when Sylvia volunteered for this week's selfie! We think you'll agree she did an amazing job.

Sylvia, who is about 5 years old, came to PAWS after her human passed away. This sweet and playful girl has adjusted pretty well to being at the shelter, but she is definitely ready to find her new forever home. While she tolerates other nice cats, Sylvia would probably be happiest as an only kitty. She is spayed, current on her vaccinations, and negative for FIV and FeLV. Come meet Sylvia today, and fall in love!

(Almost) Wordless Amelia

Don't you just love our beautiful and adoptable friend Amelia? As you can see from these photos, she has the cutest face. She also happens to have an adorable personality to match!

We always enjoy spending time with this wonderful kitty, and she always does something to bring a smile to our faces. See that third photo, of Amelia in the scratcher box? She finally settled on that one after trying three other boxes around the room in a five-minute span. It was like watching "Goldilocks & the 3 Bears" on fast forward. MOL!

Amelia, who is about 2 1/2 years old, is incredibly sweet and super social. When she first arrived at PAWS, she had a very bad urinary tract infection, but with medical care and a special diet she is doing much better, and is on the way a full recovery. Amelia is spayed, current on her vaccinations, and negative for FIV and FeLV. She is so ready to be adopted with her meds and special food, and just needs a chance. Amelia is sure to fill her forever home love and laughter. Could it be with you?
