Easy Like Sunday Selfies - Kitten Style

There aren't many things that are cuter than a big ol' pile of snuggly kittens. And that's exactly what greeted us in Room C4 at PAWS on Saturday afternoon. See for yourself! Are these little sweethearts not the cutest???

It's been a super long kitten season this year, so there are still quite a few young kitties (there are also others in addition to these!) at PAWS waiting to find their happily ever afters. We have our paws crossed that they'll all be adopted real soon, but in the meantime, they're getting lots of snuggles and playtime with the volunteers and staff at the shelter. 💖

It's Sunday, which means we're hopping along in the Sunday Selfies Blog Hop, hosted by our pals at The Cat On My Head. Be sure to check it out to see who else is hopping along (or to join in on the fun)!

(Almost) Wordless Camilla

We will never understand how some humans can just abandon pet animals, leaving them to fend for themselves. But that's exactly what seems to have happened to our gorgeous friend Camilla, who was found as a stray. This young ladycat is as sweet as she is beautiful, so we just can't imagine why someone would dump her, but there you go. Thankfully, Camilla is now safe and loved while she waits at PAWS to be discovered by her forever loving family.

Camilla is only about 10 months old. Besides having the sweetest meow, she loves her human pals and gets along with other nice cats. She is spayed, current on her vaccinations, and negative for FIV and FeLV. All she needs now is her very own happily ever after. We sure hope it finds her soon.

Miss McGee's Selfies

This is our beautiful and super gentle friend Miss McGee. We were over the moon when she raised her paw to pose for this week's selfie. That's because when she first arrived at PAWS, she was SO scared and nervous that she really didn't want anything to do with any of us. Well, as you can see, this ladycat has come a long, long way!

Miss McGee had a home at one point, but was abandoned. Thankfully, after being rescued, she lived with a nice lady for about five months, and got some great medical care before coming here. The adjustment to being at a shelter is particularly tough for shy cats like McGee, but with lots of love, snacks, and patient interaction, she has made amazing progress. She now loves being pet, adores chin scritches, and enjoys getting brushed. It's quite a leap for a kitty who used to hide her face, avoid eye contact, and hide in the corner! McGee is only about 1 1/2 years old. She is spayed, current on her vaccinations, and negative for FIV and FeLV. She is truly a love. All she needs now is a forever loving home. Could it be with you?

(Almost) Wordless Jeepers and Buzz

In our Sunday post, we promised we'd share about the two other cats who came to PAWS with Doodle and Hunter. We always aim to keep our promises, so without further ado, we present to you Jeepers and Buzz!

Buzz

You can certainly see from their photos these young mancats are super handsome. But they're not just pretty faces. We can vouch that they are also friendly, sweet, and gentle! And as you can see from the first photo, they also happen to be pals, so it would be wonderful if they could be adopted together. Buzz is about 10 months old, while Jeepers is about 2 1/2 years old. Having come from a home with way too many kitties, both get along well with other cats. And even though they are slightly shy when meeting new people, they also like humans (and Party Mix) a lot. Both boys are neutered, current on their vaccinations, and negative for FIV and FeLV. They're so ready to find their forever loving home. Could it be with you?

Selfies by Hunter

Some of you probably remember last week's selfie with adorable ginger cat Doodle. Well, another one of the wonderful kitties - Hunter - who came in together with Doodle wanted to try his own paw at the selfie thing. And judging from Hunter's photos, this mancat's got some skills!

One year-old Hunter is a sweet and gentle boy. He, Doodle, and their friends Jeepers and Buzz (we'll feature them in a future post) came to PAWS from a house with way too many felines. Hunter gets along famously with other cats and likes hanging out with his human buddies. He would do well in almost any home, and we hope the purrfect forever family discovers him soon. Hunter is neutered, current on his vaccinations, and negative for FIV and FeLV. Come meet this good boy today!

One Adoption = TWO Lives Saved: #RememberMeThursday

Today is Remember Me Thursday, a worldwide campaign that shines a light on orphan pets waiting in shelters and rescues, and the beauty and life-saving importance of pet adoption. Since that’s pretty much what we try to do 24/7/365, we think a day dedicated to helping the world #SeeTheLight about this stuff is pretty exciting.

As we thought about what we could do to shine a light on orphan pets for this special day, it struck us that we have lots of photos of cats who have come through the doors of PAWS on their way to their forever homes. Each time one of those kitties was adopted meant there was now a space at the shelter for another orphan cat waiting to find its forever family. In short, when one shelter animal is adopted, TWO lives are saved.

Here’s a collage of some of the PAWS cats who have recently been adopted. Friends and regular visitors will surely recognize some of these faces!

Of course, there are still lots of cats (and dogs) still here and elsewhere waiting to find loving homes. If you’re in a position to adopt, and happen to live in the Norwalk, CT area, be sure to check out all the adoptable PAWS cats here. If you live too far to do that, we can say with all the confidence in the world that there are so many wonderful and adoptable cats and other pet animals at your local shelter/rescue! Who knows? Maybe today's the day you'll find your new best friend, and save two lives while you're at it!

(Almost) Wordless Delphine

Our new friend Delphine is quite the stunner. Just look at that luxurious coat, that pretty face, and those amazing eyes (one blue, and one gold). Top it off with the adorable way she tilts her head just so for the camera, and this kitty is irresistible!

This gentle and affectionate little cutie is as sweet as she is beautiful. Delphine came to PAWS after being found as a pregnant stray. At just a little more than a year old, she had her babies when she was barely out of kittenhood herself! Now that her kittens have been adopted, Delphine is ready to find her happily ever after, too. She is current on her vaccinations and negative for FIV and FeLV, and will be spayed soon. Come meet her today, and fall in love!
