Thankful Thursday - Gifts from a Famous Friend! :)

Hey, everybuddy! If the cat in these first two pictures looks stunningly familiar, it's because that's none other than our famous blogging pal Cathy Keisha. Yes, it's true, Tracey and I had the distinct honor of meeting The Stunning One in person last weekend! We were already friends with TW, whom we met a few years back at BlogPaws. But we never imagined that we'd one day get to meet CK (and Pop) in person, too!

True to her reputation, CK is stunning. She also showed us her sassy, street smart side when she hissed and swatted at yours truly. (Fortunately, after 18 years as a cat volunteer, I have pretty fast reflexes. No harm, no foul -- we love ya, CK!). TW said maybe, just maybe, CK thought we were there to take her to the shelter. Which we can understand, since we WERE there to take a whole bunch of awesome stuff she and TW generously donated for the PAWS cats, and feral kitties in our area.

We're not joking when we say "a whole bunch" of stuff. We loaded up the car and drive home, and the next day, delivered everything to PAWS. As you can see, the gifts were a huge hit with our adoptable pals who currently live in the meeting room.
Nellie: "Thank you for the noms, treats and fab scratchers, CK and TW!"
Morticia: "This cat tree is Da Bomb, CK. Fanks!"
Foreground: Gabe and Letterman; background: Nellie and Morticia

Thank you, Cathy Keisha, TW and Pop, for hanging out with us, and for your generosity and care for our PAWS pals, and all cats everywhere. We are truly grateful for you, and for your friendship!

Easy Like Selfie Sunday! :)

Happy Sunday, everybuddy! As always, we're "doing the easy" AND participating in the Sunday Selfies Blog Hop, hosted by our pals at The Cat On My Head! This week's selfies were taken with a smartphone app called "Layout." It has a "photobooth" option (which snaps off four selfies, like an old-fashioned photobooth) we thought would be purr-fect for some selfies of our adoptable pals. First to try it was suave and friendly mancat Mikan.

No selfies today from usually silly and playful Gabe, who was a little sleepy.

Kitchen cats Sparky, Matt and Shadow also passed on taking selfies ... they were too busy taking it "Easy Like Sunday Morning."

Happily for us, handsome and gentle Cossack was up for some selfie fun, too:

Have a great day!

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday - Nellie

Here's our pretty friend Nellie, enjoying some relaxation time on one of the shelter's ever-popular ESS scratchers.

Besides being a very photogenic model, Nellie is one of the most agile cats we know. She jumps so effortlessly that it sometimes appears she's floating.

Nellie may be a 12 years old, but the spring in her step and her saucy demeanor make it clear that she has many more years to live, and lots more love to give.

Nellie is spayed, micro-chipped and current on her vaccinations. She likes people, gets along with other cats, and has tested negative for FIV and FeLV. Now all she needs is a new best friend. Is it you? :)

Easy Selfie Sunday

Our pal Sarah isn't just another pretty face. It turns out she's also great at multitasking. Here she is, combining the "Sunday Selfie" and "Easy Like Sunday" memes. Well done, Sarah!

You can read more about beautiful, adoptable Sarah here.

As for more "traditional" type selfies ... sisters Edina and Patsy may be young, but they sure do know how to work the camera. Here are their official selfies, taken just minutes before they were adopted (together)! :)
Edina (left) and Patsy
Today is Sunday, so we're participating in the Sunday Selfies Blog Hop, hosted by our buddies at The Cat On My Head. Be sure to stop by, to see who's hopping this week (and/or to join in on the fun)!

A Happy Dr. Seuss Day Flashback :)

Today is Dr. Seuss Day, and fans around the world are celebrating the birthday of Dr. Theodore Seuss Geisel, the famous author and illustrator who touched the lives of so many. It's an annual tradition for the pet blogging community to join in the fun by taking part in the "Dr. Seuss Day Challenge." While we were working on today's post, we took a peek at the one we did last year, before sweet Moosey had flown to the Rainbow Bridge.

Seeing our beloved Angel Moosey in his stripey hat, and Gracie and Zoe in their Thing-y wigs, definitely made us smile. (So much, in fact, that we're posting that same picture today.) The happy memories this picture brings to mind also reminded us of one of our favorite Dr. Seuss quotes:

"Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened."

Happy Dr. Seuss Day to all. May your days - and your memories - be filled with smiles.

Easy Like Selfie Sunday :)

Our sweet, adorable and fun friend, Gaia, is this week's entrant in the always fun Sunday Selfies Blog Hop (hosted by our awesome pals at The Cat on My Head). Great job, Gaia!

And here's our handsome little buddy, Theodore, giving an excellent demonstration of how to do that "Easy Like Sunday Morning" thing. He may be young, but Theodore's got that relaxamicating thing down to an art. :)

Have a great week, everybuddy!

FURever Home Friday! :)

We're always happy when Friday rolls around. But there's one kind of Friday we think is better than all the rest! You've probably guessed by now that it's time for the latest edition of FURever Home Friday, our periodic update about the lucky PAWS cats who've found their happily ever afters. There's a lot of exciting news to share, so let's get this party started! :)

Here are just some of the happy January graduates, including longtime resident Lucky!

February has been a pretty exciting month, too! You'll probably recognize a bunch of these wonderful kitties from previous posts. :)

Clockwise, from top left: Garland, Wally, Sioux, Sister, Martha, Thomas and Rikki

Here are the complete lists of the newest PAWS alums, alphabetically by month:

January: Aria, Cindy Lou Who, Clavis, The Dude, Goldie, Granita and Tiramisu (together), Halo, Kaya, Lucky, Pearl, Potus, Rocky, Shelby, Tigy, Wicca and Davis (together), and Zoe

Congratulations to all the new adoptees, and to their new families. We'll love and miss our furry pals, but are over the moon knowing they've found their very own forever homes. :)

Speaking of forever homes, let's end the post with a couple of Happy Tails Tales.

“We have renamed Panthro. We now call him Jinx. He has done beautifully and transitioned into the family very well. Our older cat Taz, accepted him very well. They play together nicely and they keep each other company. Jinx has been neutered and has had all of his shots.”

“Thank you for following up on Oreo. He has been a wonderful addition to our family and has accepted us lovingly. We had a wonderfully relaxing Valentine's Day, too (see photos)."

Have a great weekend, everybuddy!
