Heaven is a little brighter, but we are completely heartbroken.
On Thursday morning, our sweet, gentle and handsome Moosey left us for the Rainbow Bridge.
The complications of so many serious ailments finally caught up with our blue-eyed wondercat, and after a few not-so-good days, and a very rough night, we took him to our wonderful vet first thing Thursday morning. A thorough examination revealed that Moosey was very sick, and that the prognosis for his recovery was poor. Tracey and I knew in our hearts that it would not be fair to subject our 15 year-old little guy to yet more treatments, medicines, or discomfort. So, with both of us petting and kissing him, and whispering “we love you” in his ears, Moosey flew peacefully to the Rainbow Bridge.
We know we made the right decision, but that does not lessen the incredible pain and utter sadness we feel. We were blessed to have Moosey with us for 7 ½ years, and to know him at PAWS prior to that. We can’t remember life without him, and his passing has cast a long, dark shadow.
Sweet Moosey, we will never, ever forget you. Our hearts will ache, but also be warmed, whenever we remember the things that made you so awesome. Like the way you loved snuggling with your mom and dad, and how you would insist on lying between us on the couch. And how you would gently tap us with your paw to make a connection (or to tell us it was time to eat). And that your favorite snack was lettuce!
You had such a calm and gentle nature, and were so tolerant about everything, including taking your meds, getting in the cat carrier, and even going to the vet. We will never forget your beautiful blue eyes, or your striped lemur tail. Or how you were such a diligent helper/snoopervisor with anything and everything. Or how you could be so talkative – what a sweet meow you had!

| Moosey enjoying HIS Christmas tree, earlier this week |
You loved YOUR Christmas tree, window whiffies, belly rubs, and drinking water directly from the faucet. You also decided late in life that you actually enjoyed being brushed. And we love that you slept with us every night, but only after you went on patrol around the house.
We will love and miss you always, dearest Moosey, and we long for the day we see you again. Wait for us, okay?
Dad and Mom, and Zoe and Gracie, too
