(Almost) Wordless Wednesday - Paolo :)

Hi, everybuddy! This is our new friend, Paolo.

He's gentle, friendly, and super affectionate.

And as you can see from these pictures, he's also devastatingly handsome. :)

Paolo is about five years old, neutered, micro-chipped and up to date on all of his vaccinations. He has tested negative for FIV and FeLV.  Now all he needs for his own happily ever after is a new best friend. Could that be you? :)

Easy Like Selfie Sunday - Figaro

Like his namesake from the 1940 Disney movie, "Pinocchio," our adoptable pal Figaro is black and white and cute all over. This sweet and gentle mancat loves people, and gets along with the other cats in the open room in which he lives. Here he is, practicing his best selfie pose...

(Almost) Wordless Erica / Cats Rule!

When pretty Erica first came to PAWS, she was timid and nervous. This was completely understandable, since this sweet girl lived in an apartment building basement -- for a whole year -- after being abandoned by her former humans.

Fortunately, Erica is a smart, observant and forgiving kitty, who's quickly discovered that the volunteers and staff at the shelter are kind and patient, and a source of pets, food and warm laps.

This petite ladycat is no longer shy ... what a joy to see her run to the door to greet us when we visit her room. :)

Erica is about 5 years old. She's spayed, micro-chipped, and current on her vaccinations, and has tested negative for FIV and FeLV.  Now that her faith in humanity has been restored, she's ready for her very own forever home. Is that home yours?

Did you know today is Cat World Domination Day? The brainchild of our dearly departed friend, Sparkle the Designer Cat, this special day is a recognition of something many of us already know ... that cats rule! (It also happens to be Sparkle's birthday.) Summer Samba (who now handles the blogging duties at Sparkle's blog) and her housemates Binga and Boodie are having a big Cat World Domination Day bash today. Be sure to stop by if you can!

International Box Day 2015!

Have you ever noticed how cats, dogs and other animals seem to love boxes?  The phenomenon has long been noted by pet bloggers all over the world, who are coming together today to commemorate International Box Day.  To join in on the fun, we dug out our beloved Angel Sammy's combination box-bed for Moosey, Gracie and Zoe. Here's a flashback (from 2011) of Sammy demonstrating his complete mastery of the head-in-the-corner-of-the-box sleeping technique:

Flash-forward to the present day. Here's sweet Moosey, enjoying some box time. He could definitely smell his angel brother, and he settled right in for some Sammy-style relaxation. :)

Gracie and Zoe never knew Sammy, so they weren't as comfortable about actually laying in the box. They DID sniff and explore it, though. :)
