Selfies by Garfield

This week’s sefies are brought to you courtesy of our very handsome, very sweet orange tabby pal Garfield. Once you see his photos and read his story, we know you'll love him just as much as we all do!

Such a sweet boy. Just look at those big cheeks!

Garfield is about 2 years old, and his journey to the shelter began with a tough twist. When his person moved away, Garfield was left behind (outside 😡) to fend for himself. For a while, this gentle dude did his best to carry on, and was often spotted sunbathing on a neighbor’s patio. That neighbor soon noticed that Garfield wasn’t looking quite like himself anymore, and after confirming that he’d truly been abandoned, she reached out to PAWS for help. An intake date was scheduled, and help was on the way.

Garfield was a bit unsure about all the changes afoot, and went missing for a bit. Lo and behold, he reappeared during a snowstorm, when he surprised everyone by going right into the carrier. It was as though he knew it was finally time to be safe again.

Garfield is a true lap cat!

Now settled into an open, cageless room with a few other friendly boy cats, Garfield is doing fantastically. When we visited him this weekend, he wasted no time climbing straight into my lap, purring contentedly. Moments later, he curled up and fell fast asleep - proof positive that he is a true lap cat in every sense of the word.

He fell asleep in my lap for so long that my legs fell asleep!
Garfield also loves chin scritches and having his head cradled

Garfield is affectionate, communicative, friendly, gentle, and wonderfully snuggly. He’s microchipped, vaccinated, and neutered, and more than ready to be discovered by his forever family. Come meet Garfield today, and fall in love! 💖

"More lap time, please!"

It's Sunday, which means we're hopping along in the Sunday Selfies Blog Hop, hosted by our pals at The Cat On My Head. Be sure to check it out to see who else is hopping along (or to join in on the fun)!

Garfield, what happened to you is exactly what happened to our Cooper Murphy ... left to fend for himself outside in a snowstorm. You are so incredibly handsome. We love that some of your toes are white and some ginger. With your purrsonality, we predict a new forever and loving person or family will find you irresistible. Sending lots of POTP for a quick adoption. Thanks for hopping with us on the 600th week of our hop!
