Zarina's Sunday Selfies

This is our brand new pal, Zarina, who is a super friendly Sphynx cat. In my nearly 23 years volunteering with PAWS, Zarina is the first Sphynx I've have the opportunity to photograph. As you can see from her awesome Sunday selfies, she made my job pretty dang easy.

Zarina is so new to the shelter that we don't yet have a ton of information about her. What we DO know is that she's outgoing and curious, and that she loves people. More to come!

It's Sunday, which means we're hopping along in the Sunday Selfies Blog Hop, hosted by our pals at The Cat On My Head. Be sure to check it out to see who else is hopping along (or to join in on the fun)!

Wow! It is so rare to see a Sphynx kitty at a shelter! I know lots of humans will be interested in Zarina... but few of them will probably understand how much upkeep she will need.

Zarina is very striking looking with her big eyes and black nose and what seems to be a permanent raspberry. We did not know that Sphinx cats do not have whiskers. We look forward to learning more about Zarina in the future. Please thank her for hopping. Zarina is striking and beautiful in her own ways. So Sphinx Cats don't have whiskers now that is interesting. Didn't know that. She takes a purrfect Sunday Selfie but then she's the purrfect model.

I would imagine that cats like Zarina cost so much that few end-up in shelters, and that there would be rescue groups devoted just to them. If I were to ever have a pedigree cat, it would probably be a Turkish Angora.

I live in Oregon, and my wife and I adopted five rescue cats. The shelter insisted that they be kept indoors, but we feel so strongly about the matter that we wouldn't consider doing otherwise. For at least ten years, I've had a phenomenal friend/blog buddy who lives a mere 45-miles from me, yet we've never met, although I always assume that we someday will. Because, as the saying goes, "she doesn't play well with others," she is her own rescue group, and has her own tax-deductable one-woman charity. Because I am so incredibly impressed by her, I share her blog address with any and everyone who even might be marginally interested, so I will share it with you. Her name is Jody: https://catwomanflix.blogspot.com/2020/06/gray-fluff.html
