(Almost) Wordless Wednesday - Theodore :)

This is our friendly and super-adoptable friend Theodore. Isn't he Theo-dorable? ;)

This handsome dude was trapped with his brother Wally, who has since been adopted. Now it's time for Theodore to find HIS happily ever after.

Theodore is about 1 1/2 years old, neutered, micro-chipped and current on his vaccinations. He's negative for FIV and FeLV. Theodore currently lives in one of the open rooms at PAWS, so we know he gets along well with other kitties. If you're wondering how he feels about people (including children!), he likes them, too. He makes this clear by always greeting whoever is lucky enough to visit him and his roommates. Theo would love to meet and greet his way into your heart and home. Come meet him today! :)

Zoe update: Thank you again for your purrs, prayers and good thoughts. Zoe is doing well, and seems more like herself with each passing day. We have a follow up/next steps appointment with our regular vet on Saturday. Paws crossed!

Happy Zoe Update :)

Good news! Zoe is home! Much to our delight (and Zoe's, too), the vets at Cornell Veterinary Specialists pronounced our girl fit to come home today. Upon her arrival home, she enjoyed a little snack, and a nice cool drink from the fountain.

And now, she's resting comfortably in her crown princess bed:

Zoe's still a little wobbly, which they said is normal after an episode like this. We have to (try to) keep her from climbing things for the next week or so, and have her checked by our regular vets in 5-7 days, but she is home and happy. Sister Gracie is noticeably brighter now that Zoe is back. So are Tracey and I. :)

Not sure what caused all of this, but we will consult with our vets to see what we can/should do moving forward.

Thank you, everyone, for your concern and care. We love and appreciate you all, and will keep you posted.

Hugs and headbonks,

Kevin, Tracey, Gracie and Zoe

Purrs and prayers for Zoe, please

Please send purrs, prayers and good thoughts for our sweet Zoe.

We rushed her to the vet early this afternoon when she began stumbling around for no apparent reason (thank goodness we were at home when it happened). We ended up having to leave her at the 24-hour veterinary specialist, probably through Monday. Tonight's update was more positive than negative. According to the doctor, most of Zoe's symptoms (which included lack of balance, disorientation and open-mouthed breathing) have lessened in severity since she was admitted. All of the tests they've run so far haven't shown anything out of the ordinary. Her blood pressure and blood work are fine, her kidney levels are slightly elevated (but nothing bad), and her heartbeat was a little slow (but again, nothing to be alarmed about). The doctor who gave us the update says they suspect Zoe had a stroke, but do not know what could have caused it, or the severity of it. We'll get another update in the morning.

For now, we're just waiting. We're very worried and sad, but doing our best to stay positive. Gracie (Zoe's sister/littermate) seems a little down, but generally okay right now, which is a relief. We're making sure to give her lots of extra love.

We'll update you as we are able.

Hugs, headbonks and much gratitude to you all.

🎶 Oh my darling, oh my darling, oh my darling Clementine... ♪

Our beautiful, adoptable friend Clementine truly IS a darling!

Clementine is about 1 1/2 years old, spayed, micro-chipped and current on her vaccinations. She's tested negative for FIV and FeLV. As mentioned, she loves people! She also gets along well with other cats. Clementine is definitely ready to find her forever family. Won't you please give her the chance she so deserves?

Easy Like Snoozy Selfie - Zoe! :)

The star of this week's selfie and easy is our own sweet housepanther Zoe, who we adopted together with her equally sweet sister Gracie almost three years ago from PAWS. They are amazing cats, who have brought (and continue to bring) so much joy and love into our lives. Hey Zoe, how about starting things off by showing us some of your spectacular selfie skills?
You mean like this?

After she was done posing (and running around the house, as she is wont to do), Zoe settled in for a good ol' Easy Like Sunday. She loves this little bed, just as our angels Sammy and Moosey did before her. :)

Here's hoping YOUR Sunday is as wonderfully restful as Zoe's. :)

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday - Stingy

Despite his name, our pal Stingy is NOT a miser when it comes to sharing his love and affection. In fact, he's one of the sweetest, most gentle cats we know.

We bet you're wondering about Stingy's name. Well, he ended up at PAWS after being found as a stray, and the vet discovered an abdominal blockage during his medical exam. It turns out the tuxedo mancat had somehow, some way, ingested a few coins! And that's how this handsome dude got his name. The good news is that the coins have since been removed, and Stingy is 100% healthy and ready to find his forever home.

That face! :)
Stingy is about 3 years old, neutered, micro-chipped and current on his vaccinations. He has tested negative for FIV and FeLV. Come meet this fine fellow, and fall in love!

Easy Selfie Fortune Sunday, with Master Po :)

Here's our funny, snuggly and handsome buddy, Po, handling this week's selfie duties.

Speaking of Po, check out what I found in a fortune cookie earlier this week.

If you ask us, Po is one wise cat. :)

The fortunes of Po and all of the senior PAWS cats took a wonderful turn this week, when the shelter launched an amazing program to help our older adoptable pals find their very own happily ever afters!

The PAWS Pension Plan features no fee adoptions for cats 12 years and older, with the following included at no cost for the life of the cat: a yearly exam and senior blood workup analysis, and vaccinations as recommended by the PAWS vet. :)

(Almost) Wordless Cove :)

Our sweet and handsome pal Cove has only been at PAWS for a short while, but he's already established himself as one of the "official greeters" in Cat Room 5. He loves all humans and gets along well with other cats, and is always sure to greet whoever is lucky enough to visit him and his roommates.

Imagine adopting this friendly guy, and being greeted with an abundance of love every day! :)

Cove is about one year old, neutered, micro-chipped and current on his vaccinations. He has tested negative for FIV and FeLV. To learn more about Cove (and his equally adoptable siblings), check out our friend (and fellow PAWS volunteer) Maggie's delightful "Sundays at the Shelter" blog!

Easy Like Selfie Sunday - Mischief :)

Remember our beautiful, gentle senior friend Mischief? She's still waiting for her forever home, but rest assured, she's getting an abundance of love and attention from all the humans at PAWS. She's also purr-fecting her selfie skills, as shown here...

Oh, and that thing about Mischief getting lots and lots of love? Truth.

Happy Sunday, everybuddy!

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday - Milo :)

To know Milo is to love him. This senior tuxedo kitty has a personality that truly matches his sweet and gentle face.

Handsome Milo loves company, and being pet and snuggled. He'd be perfect for a retiree, or someone who is home a lot. What could be better than spending the day loving on Milo, and having that love returned tenfold? :)

He's adorable, isn't he?

Milo is about 15 1/2 years old, but if you're okay with his age, he is, too. He's neutered, micro-chipped, current on his vaccinations, and has tested negative for FIV and FeLV. Come meet Milo, and fall in love!
