Hi, it's me, Sammy! As a formerly feral cat myself, I know how difficult it is for kitties living outside, especially during the long, cold winter months. So I was really happy that the dad and the mom got to join about 200 other cat lovers in New York City Thursday night for a really awesome event called "Architects for Animals."
Get a load of these pictures* of what they saw there! Those are shelters for the feral cats living in New York City, designed by leading architectural design firms. Is that not the coolest?

A kitty high-rise, by Francis Cauffman |
A modernist shelter, by M Moser Associates |
Shelter by Callison Barteluce Architects |
Shelter by Sara Silvestri, of H3 Hardy Collaboration Architecture |
Oh, and as if these tricked out, creative shelters weren't enough excitement for one night, the mom and dad also got to hang out IN PERSON with some of our blogging pals!
That's Mom and Dad in the center of the back row. They had so much fun meeting (left to right) Carine, from Texas, a cat in New York; Laura from Squeedunk; Tamar from I Have Cat; and Layla from Cat Wisdom 101!
Have a great day, everyone! :)

What a great event. That was just terrific. And what fun to meet all those bloggers. Great picture. It is so much fun to see the faces behind the blogs. Have a great week end.
I love this! The Friskies shelter is very clever but my favorite is the Modernist style for its clean, simple lines and bright colors. Art Deco would be particularly suited to cats.
What a pawsome event !
Fun that your mom and dad meet all those bloggers live :)
My mom have meet some bloggers IRL here in Sweden and she thought is was furry funny !

Wow! That is totally terrific. I wish there could be a shelter like this for every feral kitty everywhere. It's a good start. How fun that you met other bloggers! Over the holidays the Human met Savannah's (Savannah's pawtracks) pawrents for brunch--they had a lot of fun!
That's awesome. Love the shelters. Although I don't think Fred, my formerly feral outdoor kitty (just won't come in) probably wouldn't use any of them!
Great picture of mom and dad and friends.
Wow ! these shelters are real creative ! Winter is a hard time, I just will bring cat food to an elderly lady who feeds stray cats. Fortunately here in my town there are not such a lot !
Some of the shelters seem more cat friendly than others.
Good to be able to meet some of the cat bloggers in person.
Those shelters look as though they will keep many cats safe and dry through the winter.

Oh, dear, we thought we left a comment on this post the other day. We must be getting senile. Wait, that's Jan.
Well, we're leaving one now. Looks like you had a fun time.
What an awesome exhibition! I recently became involved with feeding a feral cat colony locally, and one of the other volunteers built them some shelters as well. It warms my heart to read that there was a whole event for that!
How cool is that! Awesome that your Mom and Dad got to go and meet other cat bloggers!
