Sam and Tiger: Love Heals

For anyone who has ever wondered if they can really make a difference...

Tiger and Sam
were absolutely terrified when they first came to the shelter. Our hearts ached each time we saw them cower in the back of their shared cage, shying away from our touch and afraid to make eye contact with us. :(

But after weeks of being consistently showered by volunteers with gentle, patient and consistent kindness, these boys are coming out of their shells in a big way. Handsome house panther Sam is the more outgoing of the pair, and is quick to cruise around the room during "out time." As for Tiger, well ... I'll let this video of him (and my hand) speak for itself. :)

Tiger and Sam are very attached, and must be adopted together. They are neutered, up to date on all their vaccinations, and have tested negative for FeLV and FIV. They would do best in a quieter home with no other pets or small children.

My most loving, and loudest purring cat was half wild and terrified when he first showed up. Abandoned and almost feral in the beginning, now very loyal and loving. All they need is plenty of time and lots of love, just give them a chance and you might be surprised.

Were they feral, or why so scared? In any event, I'm so glad they've realized that *some* humans are pretty good people and will do them no harm. I'm purring for them to find a wonderful home!

Love heals...so true. We're so glad they have become more outgoing. It's nice that they get to be adopted together, because kitties truly do have a sense of family among cats and it's wonderful they will have each other in their new forever home...hopefully soon.

Sam is beautiful, and loving little Tiger is too! We do occasionally get feral cats into the shelter I volunteer at and lots of love can win over the fearful hearts - you've proven that with this post.

p.s. We have a purebred Bengal in the shelter that was found as a stray and unclaimed - can you believe it?

Tiger and Sam are so cute! I've heard they have a harder time being adopted than others in our town because of people's silly superstitions :( That makes me so sad. Black cats are gorgeous! I hope these two quickly find the loving home they deserve! Good luck!
