Minnie, our diminutive "cow-kitty," came to Paws in April 2009 and entered into a foster home this past May, when she was quickly entering the final stages of renal failure. During her time in foster, our sweet girl "... got to sleep in sunbeams - she had her bed in the window to see the sunrise, a spot on the bed for the afternoon sun and a perch to look out the window at sunset. She got to feel a breeze on her face and watch the birds, squirrels and chipmunks in the yard. And she was loved very much." (as quoted by Matt, her kind-hearted foster parent)
You all celebrated with us when -- in our most recent post -- we shared the happiest of stories regarding the adoption of our dear, sweet Bengal kitty, Kiki, who landed himself a wonderful, loving, and palatial home. How extremely shocked and saddened we were when his adoptive family informed us that Kiki succumbed to old age. We can't help but think back to the picture of him lounging in his courtyard, next to a book, saying, "what a life he had toward the end."
Kevin and I want to thank you, Matt, for opening your heart and home to Minnie, even though you knew her time on this earth was limited. Your strength and compassion are greatly admired and appreciated. Though our hearts broke to hear of Minnie's passing, we are so glad to know she had the opportunity to once again enjoy life outside of a shelter and in a loving home.
We would also like to thank Kiki's adopted family for loving him so much and so well, even though he was a senior cat. You are indeed very special, and we wish there were more people like you.
To our dearest kitty friends Minnie and Kiki, you will both continue to have a special place in our hearts, until the day we are reunited and walk together over Rainbow Bridge. In the meantime, please tell Bitsy, Graphite, Lady Madonna, Pharaoh, and all the other kitties that we've loved and lost that we say "hi" and that we'll never forget them, and that we look forward to that very special day...
XXOO,
Tracey & Kevin

How sad for all involved with them. But how wonderful they had a little time outside the shelter to be happy and loved. Purrs and tail wags.

Matt is our hero for providing Minnie with a loving home even though she was entering the final stages of renal failure.
That is so sad about Minnie and Kiki. Those are wonderful people that took them in even though they were sick and old. A big thanks to them for giving those two a wonderful life before they had to leave. I am especially sad about Kiki because I do remember the picture of him at his new home but at least he did have that wonderful time. Big hugs to everyone and lots of purrs.
We're so sorry to hear that Minnie and Kiki have gone to the Bridge, but we're really happy that they found such special people to love them before they left.

Our hearts go out to their families. It's always so hard to lose a loved one. And your writing is such a lovely tribute to them. Thank you for caring about them.
We are so sorry for the loss of Minnie and Kiki, but it is so wonderful to know that they got to spend their final days in homes surrounded by lots and lots of love! We know that everyone at the shelter cared so much about them, but to have a real home for their final time is just such a wonderful ending to their stories and we hope that all the other shelter kitties get to have happy lives in forever homes too.
We are so sad and sorry to hear of Minnie and Kiki leaving for the bridge. It's so comforting to us to know they were both in loving homes at the end, thanks to you.
How wonderful they had happy times towards the end. We found a little old cat Bandit, and only had him two weeks in comfort and love before he passed away. Losing him hurt and still breaks my heart.
I am so glad the cats had sun puddles, and love and friends. So very very glad.

Minnie and Kiki, forever loved and remembered...
Oh no, we are so very sorry to hear of the loss of two of your beautiful babies, but we're glad they had found loving homes in the end...So sad and we send our condolances to all who loved precious Minnie and Kiki...xo...J, Calle, Halle, Sukki
It is so heartbreaking when we see our babies go to the Bridge and I am so sorry to learn of this. I remember when they found their loving homes and I rejoiced for them. I have leaky eyes after reading about them but I rejoice again that they knew love away from the shelter and that they knew sunshine and wind in their furs and the love of their families.

We are so sad to hear of both Minnie and Kiki's passing. Please give our sympathy to Kiki's new family - we almost found a home for him with our friend in CT. He looked so loved and cared for in his new home. I am sad they lost him so soon. Bless both families for taking in older cats and we are so glad they were able to be part of a family at the end.
How lovely that they were both so well looked after and loved as their lives came to an end. I love your link to the Rainbow Bridge.
This makes me so sad. Kiki was such a great kitty, and to hear him talk was like hearing a bird sing. I can't believe he's passed. And Minnie meant so much to so many people. I know her foster dad is particularly heartbroken over her loss.
I'm just happy that both of these special kitties were in homes, whether foster or permanent, and experienced the love and tenderness that they deserved before crossing the Bridge.
Sad news, but we call all tell from the post before this one and from the message you received that Kiki and Minnie had happy lives at the end. Thank you for everything you do and keep up the good work!!
What sad news. But what a blessing that both of these kitties got to know the love of home life before crossing the Bridge. How lucky to be loved so well...
I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm glad they were lucky enough to be helped by PAWS and had the chance to know such love and care in their foster home and forever home.
So sorry for the loss. You guys do great work.
I am so sorry to hear about this loss. Keep up your fantastic work.
It's always so sad to hear when a kitty dies. Kitney failur is very often the cause. At least they had nice homes with loving people !
So very sorry for your losses. They were lucky to have had such love & care! purrrs...
Oh gosh I'm so sorry to hear about Minnie and Kiki. At least they knew about the good stuff at the end.
oh i am so sorry about minnie and kiki!! i wish they could have been on this earth longer but i'm glad they experienced happiness and love especially when they crossed the rainbow bridge.
How furry sad to loose these two sweet babies just after they finally got a furreffur home. We iz happy dey finally got adopted, but iz still so sad dey had such a short time in a real home, instead of a lifetime as dey (and all kittehs) should have.
Wif all how buzy you are runnin dat wunnerful PAWS place, we really appurciate da time you takes to go bisiting and sayin' hi to odders on der bloggies.
Our mom iz not furry well orginized, we finks, and she doesn't do so good wif managing 'buzy' and us bein' able to bisit.
Anyways, once agin, our hearts to out to da poor kittehs who crossed da bridge. I know our sisfur Soot was der to welcome them. And we iz sending lots of healing purrs fur all da beans who iz missing Minnie & Kiki.
Your furriends, Tigger, Munchkin, Jigsaw and Patches
Thank you. I appreciate very much the fact that you are a no kill shelter and rarelly turn away a cat. What a blessing you are to the animals you care for.
So sorry to hear of your losses, but I'm so grateful that both cats passed in a loving home. What a blessing.

I think that very special people adopt and foster senior cats when the end is near and heartbreak is inevitable. Luckily Minnie and Kiki's final days were safe and happy and filled with love. It is so hard when our cats leave us but we must try to hold onto something positive. These two kitties had their own personal angels (foster and forever)who came forward to help them :-)
It's so hard to read the posts of a beloved cat or dog passing. They're like children for most of us & when they pass, it causes so much pain. It was so wonderful that both of these beautiful cats were able to enjoy their last days with special, loving people.
