When she first arrived at PAWS, Tee-Ma was quite fearful of her new surroundings and the people that came with them. She preferred the security of her cage, and even when we opened her cage door, she rarely ventured out. But through patient and consistent interaction with PAWS staff members and volunteers, we're happy to report that Tee-Ma has absolutely blossomed. She has recently grown fond of regular petting, and is now a bonafide member of the LAP CAT Club! Yes, you read that right. Last weekend, as I was sitting on the floor during Tee-Ma's out time, she sauntered over to me and slowly put one paw on my thigh, then the other, and before I knew it, she was nestled into my lap, graciously taking in all the petting and loving that I could give.
I was so incredibly happy, and a wave of calm came over me as I realized that with her new found trust in people, sweet, gorgeous, and formerly timid Tee-Ma is well on her way to being adopted into her forever home. :)

Tee-Ma is a gorgeous girl with such a sweet face...It's so awesome she is ready to accept love and affection; I really hope she finds her loving forever home soon!
What a wonderful development. It must have felt awesome to be a part of Tee-Ma's big step forward. You do such wonderful work with these lovely kitties.
Oh, that's wonderful ! some cats need a little more time to get used to a new place.

It is always so exciting when you make a break through to a cat that doesn't understand that humans are all right. You sure are doing a great job with all that you do there. And that sure is a pretty kitty. Hope she finds her forever home soon. Have a great week end.

WOOHOO. It is so amazing how animals can blossom when the humans surrounding them have enough love, patience, and understanding. Excellent excellent work. You have truly made a huge difference in her life. She is such a beautiful lady too.

Tee-Maw is sure a beauty and with her finally getting social she shouldn't have a hard time finding a new forever home. Really loved Chris's story about Ginger. Goodness that is quite an age for a kitty. She sounds like a sweetheart.
