Goody's Selfies

Goody is a sweet, gentle kitty who’s so ready to find her forever home. She was found caring for her litter of kittens, but the people who took them in only kept the babies, and Goody was left behind (Ed. note: we'll keep our comments about those people G-rated, but let's just say we hope Santa leaves a lump of coal in their stockings). We can't even begin to understand why they didn't keep Goody. She's lovely --  extremely affectionate, snuggly, and full of quiet curiosity.

 

 

Not quite two years old, Goody has beautiful tabby markings with white spots, including on her face and on her adorable paws (look at her cute black toe beans!). If you see some resemblance between these two, it's because beautiful, two-year-old Solstice is handsome one-year-old Sun's mom. Selfies by Jack

If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate companion with a heart of gold, allow us to introduce Jack, who just may be the friendliest orange tabby you’ll ever meet.

 

At 15 years old, Jack is a distinguished senior with a lifetime of love to give. You may notice that one of his eyes looks a bit cloudy. At some point in his life, he had an injury or infection that left a scar on the cornea of his right eye. But don’t worry -- it doesn’t bother him one bit. Jack goes about his days as cheerful as can be.

 

Like many cats his age, Jack has a few age-related medical quirks. He was recently diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, but he’s a champ about taking his medication, and it’s very manageable. He also experiences some GI ups and downs, occasionally swinging between constipation and diarrhea, so a bit of monitoring (and sometimes a vet’s help) keeps him feeling his best.

 

Did we mention Jack is a lapcat? 💖

Mobility-wise, Jack doesn’t jump up or down anymore. Instead, he has a delightful habit of sitting politely at your feet, gazing up with his sweet, hopeful expression, patiently waiting to be lifted onto your lap. And oh, how he LOVES laps. Being snuggled is one of his pure joys.

In every way, Jack remains the happy, playful, gentle, snuggly boy he has always been. He’s microchipped, vaccinated, neutered, and waiting to bring warmth and companionship to his forever home. Come meet Jack at PAWS, and fall in love.

Four-year-old George is one of the friendliest kitties we've ever met. With his sweet personality and adorably crackly meow, he's become a fast favorite among the PAWS volunteers and staff.

Selfies by Mickey

Look who raised his paw to volunteer for this week's Sunday Selfies Blog Hop. It's our super handsome and super gentle friend Mickey!

 

 

This lovable 1½-year-old boy first caught the eye of a concerned neighbor who noticed him waiting outside night after night. Sadly, his (sorry excuse for a human) former owner had put him outdoors permanently -- and during that time, Mickey badly injured his paw. A trip to the vet revealed a fractured, infected toe that needed to be removed.

 

 

But Mickey proved just how resilient he is. He healed beautifully, and now he’s ready to find the loving home he has always deserved. Quiet and a touch shy at first, Mickey blossoms into a purring sweetheart once he feels safe. He enjoys gentle pets, gets along with friendly cats, and has the softest, sweetest presence.

(Almost) Wordless Athena

This absolutely beautiful kitty is our awesome and adoptable friend Athena.💖

Athena showed up one day on a family’s deck, peeking through their sliding glass door as if she knew she’d find kindness inside. A little shy at first, she quickly warmed up -- and once she did, her sweet personality pawsitively shined! She would’ve stayed there forever if not for a family allergy.

Just one year old, this gorgeous tortoiseshell is outgoing, communicative, and loves her human pals. She’s not a fan of other cats, though, and will need to be some lucky adopter's one and only princess. Athena is microchipped, vaccinated, spayed, and ready for her furever home. Could it be yours?

Best Buddy Selfies: Bingo and Terra

If you’re searching for a ready-made duo of awesome and adorable young cats, look no further than Bingo and Terra. These best buddies met at PAWS and have been inseparable ever since.

 

 

Bingo, a one-year-old fluffy grey sweetheart, has already had quite the adventure. This gorgeous dude was found in the utility room of an apartment complex here in Connecticut. According to his microchip, his home was in New York City! His previous adopters shared that he "slipped out during a trash run," but after that initial call, they ghosted our staff. 😠 Luckily, Bingo’s gentle personality, love of pets, and playful spirit quickly won over everyone at the shelter -- especially his new pal, Terra.

 

Six-month-old Terra was a PAWS kitty before he was even born (via his mama, Thumbelina, who has since found her own happily ever after 💖). Terra is outgoing, sweet, and endlessly playful. He was adopted once by a first-time pet family, but through no fault of his own, was returned after just one month. Back at the shelter, he found comfort, confidence, and friendship in Bingo, and the two have been wrestling, chasing toys, and curling up together ever since.

Now these two best friends are ready for the next chapter -- together (they must be adopted together). Both boys are microchipped, vaccinated, neutered, and bursting with affection for their forever family. Bingo and Terra can’t wait to meet you!
