Gingerbread Selfies

Look who's here today. It's our gentle and friendly pal Gingerbread! And we'll just say we think this Gingerbread man(cat) is way more awesome (and handsome!) than the cookie one in that children's story.

This amazing kitty was left behind by his family when they moved. As if that was not bad enough in and of itself, Gingerbread is front paw declawed, so leaving him outside to fend for himself was straight up unconscionable. Luckily for him, a kind neighbor took him in and got him to safety, and now he's waiting for his real forever home at PAWS. Gingerbread is calm and affectionate with people, but would definitely do best as an only pet. He's neutered, current on his vaccinations, and negative for FIV. Don't you agree that it's the purrfect season for some Gingerbread in your life?

(Almost) Wordless Smokey

As you can see from his photo, our awesome and adoptable pal Smokey has what some refer to as "movie star good looks."

We can tell you that this handsome mancat also happens to be friendly, outgoing, and pretty much purrfect. Smokey just showed up at a nice man's house one day and never left. The man was not able to keep him, and after a concerted but unsuccessful effort to locate Smokey's owner, brought him to PAWS. Two year-old Smokey loves people and gets along with other nice cats. He also likes to play, so he would do best in an active home with lots of playtime. Smokey is neutered, current on his vaccinations, and negative for FIV and FeLV. He's ready to find his forever home in time for the holidays. Come meet Smokey today, and fall in love!

We were hanging out in the PAWS lobby showcase room this weekend, and had not one, two, or even three volunteers for this week's selfies. It's true! FOUR little kitties stepped up to take "please adopt me" selfies!

(Almost) Wordless Dora

Meet our sweet, beautiful, and adoptable friend Dora! Don't you just love her big round eyes, pink nose, and amazing whiskers?

At just one year old, Dora still looks a lot like a kitten. And she could certainly tell you a lot about kittens, since she came to PAWS with 7 (yes, 7) babies. She was such a great mama to them, but as we said recently about another young mother cat, Dora is now ready to find HER forever family where SHE can be the beloved baby. She's spayed, current on her vaccinations, and negative for FIV and FeLV. Delightful Dora loves people and gets along with other nice cats. She's pretty much purrfect. What are you waiting for? Hanging out with our pal Ingrid always makes us smile. If you're wondering why, just take a look. How could we possibly look at that beautiful face and not smile?

Ingrid, who is just about one year old, first came to PAWS after being rescued with her single little baby. She was a good mama to her kitten, and now that she is spayed, Ingrid all ready to find her own forever home where SHE can be the baby. She is a sweet and gentle kitty who loves people and gets along with other nice cats. She's current on her vaccinations and negative for FIV and FeLV. All Ingrid needs now is to find her happily ever after. Could it be with you?

(Almost) Wordless Barcode

We're not really sure how our adorable and adoptable pal Barcode got her name. Perhaps the rapid approach of Black Friday and the holiday shopping season provided some inspiration? One thing we DO know is that this little kitty is cute, cute, cute! Here, see for yourself.

Barcode, who is about 11 months old, was left behind by her former humans. She definitely lucked out when she was rescued by a wonderful neighbor, and eventually ended up at PAWS. She loves people of all ages, gets along with other cats, and is smart as a whip (rumor has it she even knows how to sit on command)! Barcode is spayed, current on her vaccinations, and negative for FIV and FeLV. She's so ready to find her forever loving family. Could it be yours? Selfies by Eric the Red

Look who raised his paw when we were looking for a volunteer for this week's selfie. It's our handsome,  sweet, and super friendly pal Eric the Red!

Eric was brought to PAWS by a good Samaritan, who rescued him after his former family abandoned him. Thank goodness for that kind rescuer (and a pox on Eric's former humans)! Anyway, Eric was pretty nervous when her first got to the shelter. He's a sweet and sensitive kitty, and all the unfamiliar sights, sounds, and smells were certainly quite a shock. Now that he's settling in, though, it's clear how wonderful he is. We hung out with one year-old Eric today, and we can tell you that he's a bonafide lovebug and lap cat! He's neutered, current on his vaccinations, and negative for FIV and FeLV. With winter coming soon, this guy is ready to help keep his new best friend's lap nice and toasty.
