Sometimes what you see is exactly what you get. And that's certainly the case with our handsome, super sweet, and adoptable friend Hank. Just look at his face, and you can see the love! Hank truly is as gentle as they come.

Hank ended up at PAWS after being found at a demolition site. It turns out his family had been evicted and the home was being torn down. Hank was so glad to be rescued that he was purring and rubbing his face on everyone in sight -- including the friendly neighborhood dog! It just shows how much love this mancat has to give, and demonstrates that he would be a great fit for almost any loving forever home. (Almost) Wordless Marilyn

Just look at that purrfect face, those fancy whiskers, and those beautiful furs. Our adoptable pal Marilyn is most definitely a star!

Marilyn, who is about 1 1/2 years old, was left behind when her former human moved.😞 Fortunately, a good Samaritan took this beautiful kitty in, and then brought her to PAWS. Marilyn is now getting lots of love and attention here, and is now ready to find her happily ever after. She is spayed, current on her vaccinations, and negative for FIV and FeLV. According her intake card description, Marilyn has lived with other very mellow cats but truth be told, she would be happier as your one and only pet. 7 year-old Herman was found abandoned in a college dormitory that was closed for the school year. The air conditioning in the building had been shut off, and all poor Herman had was a big bowl of poor-quality food and no water. It's a horrible story, but we are glad this gentle dude is now safe and loved at PAWS. We can say from first-hand experience that he adores hanging out with his human pals, and gets along with other nice kitties! Check out our sweet, pretty, and silly friend Phoebe! This recent mama to four adorable kittens is now spayed and ready to find her loving forever home.

Black Cat Appreciation Day with Kosmo

Today, August 17, is Black Cat Appreciation Day! Some of you may be asking yourselves, "why do black cats even need a special day?" Sadly, the myths and superstitions about black cats being unlucky or "bad" persist for many people. As a result, black kitties are only half as likely to be adopted as cats of other colors. And even black cats fortunate enough to end up in no-kill rescues -- like our new friend Kosmo (isn't she beautiful?) -- wait several months longer to find their forever homes than their other-colored counterparts.

Selfies by Super Adoptable Tortellini

Check out our adorable, gentle, and super handsome friend Tortellini. He's been waiting for a while to find his forever home, and quite frankly we're left scratching our heads wondering why that is. All we can think is that he is slightly shy when it comes to people he doesn't know, staying at arm's length until he feels safe.

 

 

We wish potential adopters had the time to sit with him for more than just a few minutes. They would see what we do: Tortellini will be the most amazing best friend for whoever is lucky enough to adopt him!

 

Tortellini is about 1 1/2 years old, and came to us with his mama and siblings when their human family was no longer able to care for them. We don't know the exact circumstances of why they could not stay in their former home, but their sweet personalities and good health lead us to believe they were all very well-loved. Tortellini's siblings have already been adopted, and now it's this good boy's turn to find his new forever family. He is neutered, current on his vaccinations, and negative for FIV and FeLV. He really enjoys being pet and getting quiet attention from his human pals. He also gets along famously with other kitties, and would be a great addition to almost any home.
