Happy MEW Year!

Happy Mew Year! Despite a year that was challenging in so many ways, there were definitely some things that brought sheer and utter joy. Those would include the myriad of (now former) PAWS cats who will be ringing in 2022 with their new FURever families. Those of you who've been here before probably recognize some of the faces in this collage of some of our friends who found their happily ever afters in 2021.

Here are the graduates for the month of December (through 12/30/21): Baby, Bill, Bradley, Brady, Briggs, Caramel, Casper & Bob, Cho, Clark, Dante, Espresso & Cappuccino, Flash, Hazel, Latte, Lucky, Mrs. Grey, Mojo, Morticia, Ninja Rose, Patchy, Ross & Phoebe, Sienna, Smokey, Sookie, Spooky, Star, and Willow.

Of course, every adoption makes our hearts happy, but perhaps none of them more so than that of our longtime shelter buddy Flash, who waited for 1 1/2 years to find her perfect loving forever home.

And to think … when 9 year-old Flash first arrived at PAWS, she was so terrified that we weren’t able to post about her for months because we literally couldn’t get a good photo of her! As the months went by, Flash felt more safe and comfortable with her human friends at the shelter. But yet she waited and watched as so many of the other cats in her open room came and went. Fast forward to last week. We’re pretty sure Flash was on Santa’s list of NICE kitties, and that he brought her exactly what she wanted for Christmas. Flash has been adopted by a patient and understanding family with an attached art studio that will be all for her. Flash will be safe, warm, fed, and loved, and can come out for pets and attention whenever she wants. All in her time.💖 We have the distinct feeling that she’ll be doing so often.

Congratulations to Flash, and all of the graduates and their forever families! We wish all of them, and all of YOU, a new year (and many, many more to come) filled with happiness, good health, and love.

(Almost) Wordless Camille

It's a bit of a mystery to us that Camille is still waiting to find her forever home. As you can see, she's beautiful!

This one year-old kitty is very friendly and outgoing, and adores people, playing, and just hanging out. If we had to guess, the reason she is still waiting could be that she does not like other animals. She would have to be an only pet. But we KNOW there are plenty of humans who would love to have a one and only best friend like Camille! She is spayed, current on her vaccinations, and negative for FIV and FeLV. This adorable girl is most definitely ready to find her loving forever home. Could it be with you?

(Almost) Wordless Precious

This is our beautiful and adoptable pal Precious, who came to PAWS after being found as a stray. She is a little cautious with new people, but once she knows you, will be your new best friend!

In fact, Precious loves hanging out with her human friends at the shelter, and enjoys being pet and playing. We noticed this past weekend that she seems open to being friends with other nice kitties, but we also think she could also be happy as a one and only cat. Precious is about two years old, and ready to find her happily ever after. Is it with you?

New Guy Buster's Selfies

This is our new friend, Buster. And we're not kidding when we say, "new." Buster is so new, in fact, that he doesn't even have a proper cage card. We may be a bit short on details right now, but we DO know this little dude knows how to rock a selfie. Just look!

Patchy's Selfie Series

Look who raised her pretty little paw when we asked for a volunteer for this week's selfie. It's our adorable and adoptable pal Patchy, and as you can see, she's really good at striking a pose!

Patchy is only about one year old, and came to PAWS after being found as a stray. She's a friendly girl who likes to be petted and have attention from her human friends. She also likes to play when the mood strikes! Patchy is still getting used to being at the shelter, so we are not yet sure how she is with other cats. But we are sure she would be just fine as your one and only kitty, if that's how you roll. Patchy is spayed, current on her vaccinations, and negative for FIV and FeLV.
