Did you know that October is Black Cat Awareness Month? It's true! And in keeping with that theme, we present our handsome and gentle housepanther friend, Mishu. He wants everyone to know he is a very good boy, and that he will be the bestest best friend for whoever is lucky enough to adopt him. (We will 100% vouch for him, by the way). 💖
Mishu is about 2 years old, and came to PAWS after he was found as a stray. He loves
to be petted and brushed, loves people, and gets along
with other nice cats. He is neutered, microchipped, and current on his vaccinations. Mishu
has tested positive for FIV, but it's important to remember this
does not mean he can't live a long and happy life. According to
Best Friends Animal Society, "FIV-positive cats can live normal lives,
both in quality and
duration. They just need to be monitored for infections and dental
issues. But if they’re well cared for, they can be healthy, happy,
wonderful pets." FIV cannot be
passed to other cats through casual contact, or by sharing food, water, or a
litter box. Nor can it be passed to people or other pet species. Come meet Mishu today, and fall in love!
