Oh, and lest we forget, here are some Happy Tails Tales to warm your heart just a little more to start the year:

“Thank you for contacting us and asking about Hippity (Salty) and Hoppity (Pepper). They are doing extremely well in every way. They eat enthusiastically, use their litter boxes fastidiously, get to run and play all over the house and stairs, have gained a tiny bit of weight, but are very active, fit and happy. They still like being with each other, on a window seat watching the leaves blow by, and sleeping late on mornings on warm down comforters. These two beautiful cats are delightful and have taught us very much about their own relationship to each other as well as showing us their wonderful individual qualities.

“I took this photo of Kreamsicle the other day. He is adorable! He has changed a lot since he first came. He has become a lot friendlier. He sits on my lap whenever he can. He really is a delightful kitty.”

“Pasha (now Jinxy) is doing great in her new home! She seemed to become comfortable fairly quickly and has opened up a lot through out the months we've had her. She loves to be in any room we are in and right by our side. Some of her favorite spots she likes to relax in are the living room chair and on top of the couch. She's my second alarm clock in the morning making sure to wake me up on time by meowing and laying right on my back! She had no issues using her litter box and loves feeding time. We absolutely love her feisty and playful attitude and she's a great companion.”

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday - Tucker

Handsome Tucker is about three years old, but he looks much younger.

He's also quite the comedian.

He has lots of energy,

And plays like a kitten!

As you might guess, this fun boy would do best in a home with humans who will interact a lot with him. Tucker gets along with some other cats, and is neutered, micro-chipped, and current on his vaccinations. He has tested negative for FIV and FeLV. If you're looking for love and laughter, Tucker's the cat for you! :)

Easy Like Selfie Sunday!

We're taking part in the Sunday Selfies Blog Hop, hosted by our good friends at The Cat On My Head. This week's entry is from our sweet, lap-loving pal, Artemis.
As you can see, she's gorgeous. Nice job on your selfie, Artemis! :)

Of course, no Sunday is complete without a little bit of EASY. And with that, here's handsome mancat Cappy, who quite clearly has this relaxation thing down to an art...
Zzzzzzzzzz...
Artemis and Cappy are both waiting for forever homes of their own. Come meet them at PAWS today!

Happy Sunday, everybuddy!

Grateful for You All

Today is Thankful Thursday, and we wanted express our gratitude to our amazing friends and family for the remarkable outpouring of care and concern since our sweet Moosey made his journey to the Rainbow Bridge.

Thank you, Ann (Zoolatry), for this lovely memorial badge.

All of us here are dealing with Moosey's loss in our own way, but bound together by love. Zoe clearly misses her brother, and we can see that she is not quite herself. It's a tough adjustment, but we know she (and all of us) will be okay in time, and that there will come a day when memories of Moosey bring more smiles than tears. Until then, we are so grateful for your love, compassion, purrs and prayers. Thanks and love to you all.

Thank you, Julie (Father Tom Fishworthy, SJ & Family)

A note from Mom Tracey, Gracie and Zoe:

Even though we're all still sad that Moosey had to go to the Bridge, we're wishing Dad Kevin a beautiful birthday filled with things that make him happy. We know for a fact that Angel Moosey is wishing him the same exact thing. :)

Happy Birthday. We love you, Dad!

Fly free, Sweet Moosey

Heaven is a little brighter, but we are completely heartbroken.

On Thursday morning, our sweet, gentle and handsome Moosey left us for the Rainbow Bridge.

The complications of so many serious ailments finally caught up with our blue-eyed wondercat, and after a few not-so-good days, and a very rough night, we took him to our wonderful vet first thing Thursday morning. A thorough examination revealed that Moosey was very sick, and that the prognosis for his recovery was poor. Tracey and I knew in our hearts that it would not be fair to subject our 15 year-old little guy to yet more treatments, medicines, or discomfort. So, with both of us petting and kissing him, and whispering “we love you” in his ears, Moosey flew peacefully to the Rainbow Bridge.

We know we made the right decision, but that does not lessen the incredible pain and utter sadness we feel. We were blessed to have Moosey with us for 7 ½ years, and to know him at PAWS prior to that. We can’t remember life without him, and his passing has cast a long, dark shadow.

Sweet Moosey, we will never, ever forget you. Our hearts will ache, but also be warmed, whenever we remember the things that made you so awesome. Like the way you loved snuggling with your mom and dad, and how you would insist on lying between us on the couch. And how you would gently tap us with your paw to make a connection (or to tell us it was time to eat). And that your favorite snack was lettuce!

You had such a calm and gentle nature, and were so tolerant about everything, including taking your meds, getting in the cat carrier, and even going to the vet. We will never forget your beautiful blue eyes, or your striped lemur tail. Or how you were such a diligent helper/snoopervisor with anything and everything. Or how you could be so talkative – what a sweet meow you had!

Moosey enjoying HIS Christmas tree, earlier this week
You loved YOUR Christmas tree, window whiffies, belly rubs, and drinking water directly from the faucet. You also decided late in life that you actually enjoyed being brushed. And we love that you slept with us every night, but only after you went on patrol around the house.

We will love and miss you always, dearest Moosey, and we long for the day we see you again. Wait for us, okay?
