International Box Day 2015!

Have you ever noticed how cats, dogs and other animals seem to love boxes?  The phenomenon has long been noted by pet bloggers all over the world, who are coming together today to commemorate International Box Day.  To join in on the fun, we dug out our beloved Angel Sammy's combination box-bed for Moosey, Gracie and Zoe. Here's a flashback (from 2011) of Sammy demonstrating his complete mastery of the head-in-the-corner-of-the-box sleeping technique:

Flash-forward to the present day. Here's sweet Moosey, enjoying some box time. He could definitely smell his angel brother, and he settled right in for some Sammy-style relaxation. :)

Gracie and Zoe never knew Sammy, so they weren't as comfortable about actually laying in the box. They DID sniff and explore it, though. :)

Easy Like Selfie Sunday - Spotty

Happy Sunday, everybuddy! Those of you who read our blog fairly regularly know that we're fans of both the "Sunday Selfie Blog Hop" (hosted weekly by our pals at The Cat on My Head), and the "Easy Like Sunday" meme. As we've done previously, we're participating in both today. Handling the all-around honors is our handsome, friendly and lap-loving pal, Spotty. Here's Spotty's selfie:

Spotty is about 5 years old, and sweet as they come. As you can see from the pictures, one of his favorite things is warming up his human volunteer pals' laps! He also gets along pretty well with other kitties, in case you were wondering. :) Spotty is neutered, micro-chipped and up to date on his vaccinations. He has tested negative for FIV and FeLV. Come meet Spotty at PAWS today ... he'd love to be your new best forever friend! 

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday - Swizzle :)

Just look at that face.  We certainly can't resist our adoptable friend, Swizzle!  And Tracey and I always make it a point to spend some "quality" time with her each time we volunteer. 

Swizzle is sweet and gentle, and (as you can see in these pictures) beautiful from every angle.

Swizzle has been waiting for a very long time for someone to give her the chance she needs at a forever home. 

We, and the other volunteers, promise to keep on loving her until she finds one. 

Swizzle is spayed, micro-chipped and current on her vaccinations.  She's about 8 1/2 years old, and has tested negative for FIV and FeLV.  She tolerates other cats, but does not do well with dogs. Swizzle would do best in a quieter home.  Come and meet her at PAWS today!

Today is a very special day at our house! It's Moosey's seventh gotcha day!

Thank you, little buddy, for filling our hearts and home with love and happiness every single day!  And for making us smile no matter what it is you happen to be doing...

Moosey Health Update: Thank you to everyone who's been keeping Moosey in their thoughts, purrs and prayers.  He continues to do well (even though he's a little slower these days).  He's such a good boy about his twice-daily meds and insulin shots (Mom and Dad are very thankful for this).  After a recent checkup, Moosey's vet (Dr. L.) said,  "his numbers and bloodwork are good (even if he didn't have the medical issues he has)." :)

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday - Olga

Beautiful Olga is a super sweet girl. She enjoys being pet, lounging in sunpuddles, and watching "Bird TV" through the window of her room.

Olga loves other cats, and has learned from her volunteer pals that humans are nice, too. 

She would make a purrfect addition to a quieter home. Maybe yours? :)

Olga is about 2 years old. She's spayed, micro-chipped, and current on her vaccinations. She is negative for FIV and FeLV.  Come meet her, and fall in love!

Easy Like Sunday Selfie

Goldie is about 2 years old. He's neutered, micro-chipped and current on his vaccinations. This super sweet boy does have a history of cystitis, so he is on a special prescription diet to help manage that issue. He is negative for FIV and FeLV. As you can see, he loves humans. He also gets along with most other cats. Now all he needs is a forever home.
