Tuxedo Tuesday (X2) - Opt to Adopt

Fresh from their foster home, handsome tuxedo brothers Aiden and Joshua are two of the newest PAWS residents. Their foster family reports that these little guys are friendly, sweet, and ready to be adopted together.

Aiden and Joshua were found living in an outdoor colony. After they were caught, it quickly became clear that they were WAY too friendly to live a short, uncertain life outside in a colony. Here's what their foster mom (who took the pictures that accompany this post) had to say about these cuties:

Pick them up and they start purring and making "air muffins." They love playing together, but are also happy to hang with you one-on-one. While they were with us, they enjoyed exploring all corners of our home and don't hide at all. They happily interacted with the resident cats (even when the resident cats didn't quite feel the same way). Aiden gives head butts, and when it’s nap time he can often be found under the covers with just his head peeking out. They both love all toys but feather and string toys are their purr-sonal favorites!

Aiden and Joshua are about four months old, neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and have received their first distemper shots. They have tested negative for FIV and FeLV.  In short ... they're ready to pack their toys and go home with you!  And just in case you need extra incentive to adopt this pair, how about lower adoption fees and a whole lot of goodies when you do (The PAWS Kitten Shower runs now through September 16)?

 

Easy Like Sunday - Elvira :)

Our sweet and adoptable buddy, Elvira, is spending most of her Sunday doing some serious relaxamicating. And in case you're wondering, she really IS this adorable in person!

Maybe you could use a new best friend to teach you the fine art of taking it easy? :)

Elvira is about 6 years old, spayed, micro-chipped, and up to date on all her vaccinations. She gets along with some other cats, and would do best in a quieter home.  She has tested negative for FIV and FeLV.

A Life Well Lived - Fly Free, Sparkle

Yesterday, the cat blogging world lost one of its brightest stars, when Sparkle the Designer Cat passed away at age 11.  Her wit and wisdom - so richly evident in her books and through her amazing social media presence - were unmatched, and she was an inspiration and a true and supportive friend.  Sparkle's greatest legacy will most certainly be her compassionate and tireless efforts on behalf of shelters and rescues, and for feral and homeless cats all over the world - even at PAWS, where she and her human recently sponsored three cats (Patch, Sweet Pea and Oreo) who are waiting for their forever homes.

Fly free, Sparkle.  You are truly one in a million, dear friend, and we will love and miss you always.  Thank you for all you have been to those of us fortunate enough to have known you, and for all that you will continue to be for so many.

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday - Creamsicle

Our handsome, adoptable pal Creamsicle was the first to try out our new "Bird Catcher Pro" interactive cat toy.

We had a very spirited play session, and Creamsicle seemed excited to see something pretty close to 3-D Bird TV, right inside Cat Room 3!  As you can see from this collage, Creamsicle gives this toy an enthusiastic two paws up. :)

It's Raining Kittens!

It's been a mighty busy "kitten season" in our area.  As you might guess, that means PAWS is bursting at the seams with adorable babies waiting to find loving forever homes.  In hopes of helping these little ones find their happily ever afters as soon as possible (not to mention freeing up cage space so that we're able to take in more homeless cats), PAWS is holding a month-long Kitten Shower now through September 16.

The event features reduced adoption rates if you adopt a pair of kittens ($125 for both), or an even better rate if you adopt one kitten and one adult at ($100 for both).  There will also be a raffle, surprises, refreshments and free gifts for adopters.  Oh, and of course ... LOTS of sweet, silly and beautiful KITTENS of every size, shape and color. :)

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday - Gracie and Zoe

A little pre-dinner fun, compliments of our very own Gracie and Zoe.  In the video, Zoe's first out of the chute, but Gracie doesn't play games when it comes to her wet food. Be sure to turn up the sound for extra giggles, and enjoy the show. *

Easy LIke Sunday - Snickers :)

Our gentle, beautiful and adoptable friend Snickers has decided to spend her Sunday in this nice, snuggly kitty bed.

 If you look behind her, and to the right, there's still some room in that other bed.  So ... who wants to join in on some rest and relaxation? :)
