International Box Day :)

We've never met a cat who didn't like boxes.  Come to think of it, it seems that most animals we've ever met kind of enjoy being in, on and around them.  It's a phenomenon that's been noted by pet bloggers the world over, and today is the day to celebrate the unabashed love that animals have for boxes. :)

Here's Khan (who recently found his very own forever home), getting his last turn in one of the PAWS Meeting Room's favorite boxes:

And our beautiful pal Izzy (still waiting to be adopted), staking her claim to the very same box:

Check out the official International Box Day badge featuring some of our best blogging pals (and our own beloved Moosey!), and created by our awesome friend Ann at Zoolatry:

Happy International Box Day 2014!

Sarah - Friendship and Trust

The transition to life at PAWS hasn't been easy for our beautiful friend Sarah.   The sights, smells and sounds of a shelter can be overwhelming, especially for sensitive kitties like her.  But as we've found time and again, consistent love, kindness and patience often help cats like Sarah realize that people aren't so bad.  She's not exactly a lap cat yet, but as you can see from these pictures, she definitely enjoys hanging out with her human pals.  She also loves playing with laser toys!

It's not clear why Sarah waited until now to turn a new page. We're just glad she finally did. :)

Sarah is about 10 years old, spayed and up-to-date on her vaccinations. She has tested negative for FIV and FeLV. She would do best in a quieter home with no children or other cats.

Happy Father's Day to Our Big Cat Daddy!

Dear Dad (Meowmeowmans),

On this wonderful holiday, we want to thank you for being the Big Kahuna, the Big Cheese, the one (of the male persuasion, anyway...MOL!) who rules the roost.

In all seriousness, we want to thank you so much for recognizing just how great us older kitties are, and for taking us home from PAWS to live with you and the mom. We are blessed to be loved by such a sensitive, caring and loving dad like you.

BTW ... Mom thinks you're pretty cool, too... :)

We love you!

Headbonks,

Moosey, Zoe and Gracie

P.S. - Mom helped us with this post. :)

Happy Gotcha Day, Moosey!

Happy Gotcha Day, Moosey!

Thanks to our friend Ann, at Zoolatry, for this beautiful badge!

We're grateful and glad that you came home with us six years ago (on June 6, 2008).

Thank you for choosing us to be your family,

and for making our home such a happy place.

We love you, buddy, and cherish each and every moment we have with you,

Dad, Mom, Gracie and Zoe

=====

Thank you to all of our wonderful friends who have been sending love, purrs and prayers for Moosey's health.  He's doing really well!  His daily medications (which he's so good about taking) are keeping things in check, and his doctor says things look good.  So with that said, we do hope you'll all help us celebrate Moosey's special day. :)

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday - Oscar

The eyes have it!

Handsome and adoptable Oscar has some of the biggest, roundest peepers ever!

Sadly, this friendly guy came to PAWS after his owner got sick.  Oscar was obviously well-loved, because he is very sweet and loves hanging out with his volunteer pals.

Oscar is about 12 years old, neutered, micro-chipped, and up to date on his vaccinations.  He has tested negative for FIV and FeLV.  He's waiting at PAWS for his new forever home, and has lots of love to give to whoever is lucky enough to adopt him. :)

==========

Did you know today (June 4) is Hug Your Cat Day?  Moosey, Gracie and Zoe get hugs EVERY day, but we'll use any excuse to give them some more. Happy Hug Your Cat Day! :)

Mommy Cat Mushka's Photo Shoot

Pretty and petite mommy cat Mushka is new at PAWS, but she's already shown herself to be gentle, loving and sweet.

Her kittens have all been adopted, and now she's waiting to find her very own happily-ever-after (and getting lots of love and attention from the shelter volunteers and staff in the meantime). :)

Mushka is about three years old, micro-chipped and spayed (as you can see by her shaved belly).  She is up-to-date on her vaccinations.  She has tested negative for FIV and FeLV.

 Come meet Mushka today!
