(Almost) Wordless Wednesday - Charlotte

Zzzzzzz...
Hey! Were you watching me snoozing?
Beautiful Charlotte is still waiting patiently for her new forever family to find her. She's about 2 1/2 years old, spayed, micro-chipped and up to date on her vaccinations. She has tested negative for FIV and FeLV. To read more about this wonderful kitty, and how she ended up at PAWS, click HERE.

Easy Like Selfie Sunday :)

This week, we have a dynamic DUAL entry for the Cat On My Head's Sunday Selfies Blog Hop. Brothers Wally and Theodore are kind of new to the shelter, but it appears they've already had some experience posing for selfies in their young lives (they're about one year old). Nice job, guys!
Wally
Theodore

And now, for your "Easy Like Sunday" viewing pleasure, here's our sweet and handsome pal Patch enjoying one of the Room 4 wall hammocks.

Wally, Theodore and Patch are all neutered, micro-chipped and current on their vaccinations. All three of these wonderful mancats are waiting at PAWS to be discovered by their forever families. Come meet them today! :)

Happy Sunday, everybuddy!

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday - Señor

This is our lovable pal, Señor. When he's not curled up on a lucky volunteer's lap, this handsome mancat loves hanging out on the cardboard scratchers in his room at PAWS. Here he is, showing how they work as an impromptu bed.

He also thinks they make great little step stools, to get a better view across the room. Or from the looks of this picture, maybe they work as make-believe flying carpets. :)

Señor loves people, snuggling, and playing. And he gets along well with most other cats. Now he just needs his forever family to discover him.

Señor is about 11 years old, neutered, micro-chipped and current on his vaccinations. He's tested negative for FIV and FeLV. Won't you please give this awesome kitty the chance he wants and deserves?

Easy Like Selfie Sunday

It's Sunday, and we're taking part in the Sunday Selfies Blog Hop, hosted by our good pals at The Cat On My Head. This week, we've got a Selfie, an Easy, and a combination of the two by some of our adoptable PAWS pals.

A Sunday Selfie, by sweet and gentle Van Buren.

A Sunday Easy, courtesy of beautiful Sarah, who's as white as (but much warmer than) the snow piled up outside.

And an Easy Sunday-Selfie combination, by our tangerine-colored buddy, Mikan.

Wishing YOU a wonderful Sunday, however you decide to spend it!

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday - Pumpkin :)

We love visiting our beautiful friend Pumpkin at the shelter.

This sweet and gentle ginger ladycat loves the time we spend together, too.

Pumpkin has been at PAWS for a long time. She's wonderful, interactive and affectionate with people she knows. But her reserved personality around strangers means she often gets overlooked by potential adopters. Pumpkin is so ready to find a forever home. And a human of her very own. Is that you?

Easy Like Selfie Sunday :)

Don't you just love Sunday? It's the purrfect day for resting and recharging for the week ahead (also known in the Cat Blogosphere as taking it "Easy Like Sunday Morning). And here are pretty Mimi (the beautiful white and tabby ladycat on the right) and her friend, Mindy, doing just that.

Of course, Sundays are also great for having a little fun. While Mindy and Mimi were snoozing, their super friendly roommate, Figaro, was demonstrating his awesome SELFIE skills. Looking good, Figgy!

We're participating in the Sunday Selfie Blog Hop, hosted by our fabulous pals at The Cat On My Head. Be sure to visit them to see who else is participating and/or to join in the festivities!

Happy Sunday, Everybuddy!

Tuxie Tuesday - Opt to Adopt Rikki

You never know when your luck will change. Take adorable and adoptable Rikki, for instance. She was born on the streets of Norwalk, Connecticut to a feral mom. Rikki, her mom and her siblings were captured as part of a Trap/Neuter/Return (TNR) effort. Since they were all extremely feral, the plan was to return them to their colony after their checkups, vaccinations, and spays. Things went exactly as planned for Rikki's mom and siblings. But fate stepped in when Rikki got a serious infection after her surgery. And believe it or not, that's when her luck changed for the better.

Let's just say that the time she spent recovering with the veterinary staff and her foster mom convinced Rikki that people are pretty cool. Foster Mom says this 6-month old cutie LOVES snuggling and belly rubs, playing with string toys and just chilling. She is also a great purrer, loves being held, and gives great kisses and head butts. Rikki is completely recovered from being sick, and is ready to find her happily ever after. She's spayed, micro-chipped, current on her vaccinations, and has tested negative for FIV and FeLV. Now all she needs is a forever family to love. Is it yours?

If you're interested in adopting Rikki, please send an email to ilona@pawsct.org.

Easy (and Handsome) Like Selfie Sunday :)

There's a proverb that says, "A Sunday well spent brings a week's content." Of course, the definition of "well spent" depends upon who you ask. Take for instance our handsome, adoptable friend Rocky, who'd tell you a good Sunday includes playing on the meeting room cat trees, and taking SELFIES (like this):

We were going to ask our other adoptable mancat pal, Sparky, the same question. But as you can see, he's sort of occupied with doing the "EASY Like Sunday Morning" thing:

We say they're both having pretty good Sundays.

Here's hoping YOUR Sunday is well spent. :)

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday - buddies!

Don't you just love this photo of handsome, gentle "Uncle" Thor and The Dude, helping with some office work at PAWS? The little ones all love Thor, and he loves them right back. Adorable!

Easy Like Selfie Sunday :)

It may be a brand new year, but Sundays around here are still reserved for a bit of SELFIE* fun, and some good old-fashioned EASY. Getting us started with what may be her best selfie to date is our sweet and adoptable housepanther friend, Lucky. Nice one, Luck-A-Luck!

Oh, and about that Easy-like-Sunday-morning thing? Check out our silly, handsome and adoptable pal, Gabe, who's clearly taking relaxation to a higher level. The hanging leg is a great touch, don't you think?

=====

Oh, and lest we forget, here are some Happy Tails Tales to warm your heart just a little more to start the year:

“Thank you for contacting us and asking about Hippity (Salty) and Hoppity (Pepper). They are doing extremely well in every way. They eat enthusiastically, use their litter boxes fastidiously, get to run and play all over the house and stairs, have gained a tiny bit of weight, but are very active, fit and happy. They still like being with each other, on a window seat watching the leaves blow by, and sleeping late on mornings on warm down comforters. These two beautiful cats are delightful and have taught us very much about their own relationship to each other as well as showing us their wonderful individual qualities.

“I took this photo of Kreamsicle the other day. He is adorable! He has changed a lot since he first came. He has become a lot friendlier. He sits on my lap whenever he can. He really is a delightful kitty.”

“Pasha (now Jinxy) is doing great in her new home! She seemed to become comfortable fairly quickly and has opened up a lot through out the months we've had her. She loves to be in any room we are in and right by our side. Some of her favorite spots she likes to relax in are the living room chair and on top of the couch. She's my second alarm clock in the morning making sure to wake me up on time by meowing and laying right on my back! She had no issues using her litter box and loves feeding time. We absolutely love her feisty and playful attitude and she's a great companion.”

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday - Tucker

Handsome Tucker is about three years old, but he looks much younger.

He's also quite the comedian.

He has lots of energy,

And plays like a kitten!

As you might guess, this fun boy would do best in a home with humans who will interact a lot with him. Tucker gets along with some other cats, and is neutered, micro-chipped, and current on his vaccinations. He has tested negative for FIV and FeLV. If you're looking for love and laughter, Tucker's the cat for you! :)

Easy Like Selfie Sunday!

We're taking part in the Sunday Selfies Blog Hop, hosted by our good friends at The Cat On My Head. This week's entry is from our sweet, lap-loving pal, Artemis.
As you can see, she's gorgeous. Nice job on your selfie, Artemis! :)

Of course, no Sunday is complete without a little bit of EASY. And with that, here's handsome mancat Cappy, who quite clearly has this relaxation thing down to an art...
Zzzzzzzzzz...
Artemis and Cappy are both waiting for forever homes of their own. Come meet them at PAWS today!

Happy Sunday, everybuddy!

Grateful for You All

Today is Thankful Thursday, and we wanted express our gratitude to our amazing friends and family for the remarkable outpouring of care and concern since our sweet Moosey made his journey to the Rainbow Bridge.

Thank you, Ann (Zoolatry), for this lovely memorial badge.

All of us here are dealing with Moosey's loss in our own way, but bound together by love. Zoe clearly misses her brother, and we can see that she is not quite herself. It's a tough adjustment, but we know she (and all of us) will be okay in time, and that there will come a day when memories of Moosey bring more smiles than tears. Until then, we are so grateful for your love, compassion, purrs and prayers. Thanks and love to you all.

Thank you, Julie (Father Tom Fishworthy, SJ & Family)
=====

A note from Mom Tracey, Gracie and Zoe:

Even though we're all still sad that Moosey had to go to the Bridge, we're wishing Dad Kevin a beautiful birthday filled with things that make him happy. We know for a fact that Angel Moosey is wishing him the same exact thing. :)

Happy Birthday. We love you, Dad!

Fly free, Sweet Moosey

Heaven is a little brighter, but we are completely heartbroken.

On Thursday morning, our sweet, gentle and handsome Moosey left us for the Rainbow Bridge.

The complications of so many serious ailments finally caught up with our blue-eyed wondercat, and after a few not-so-good days, and a very rough night, we took him to our wonderful vet first thing Thursday morning. A thorough examination revealed that Moosey was very sick, and that the prognosis for his recovery was poor. Tracey and I knew in our hearts that it would not be fair to subject our 15 year-old little guy to yet more treatments, medicines, or discomfort. So, with both of us petting and kissing him, and whispering “we love you” in his ears, Moosey flew peacefully to the Rainbow Bridge.

We know we made the right decision, but that does not lessen the incredible pain and utter sadness we feel. We were blessed to have Moosey with us for 7 ½ years, and to know him at PAWS prior to that. We can’t remember life without him, and his passing has cast a long, dark shadow.

Sweet Moosey, we will never, ever forget you. Our hearts will ache, but also be warmed, whenever we remember the things that made you so awesome. Like the way you loved snuggling with your mom and dad, and how you would insist on lying between us on the couch. And how you would gently tap us with your paw to make a connection (or to tell us it was time to eat). And that your favorite snack was lettuce!

You had such a calm and gentle nature, and were so tolerant about everything, including taking your meds, getting in the cat carrier, and even going to the vet. We will never forget your beautiful blue eyes, or your striped lemur tail. Or how you were such a diligent helper/snoopervisor with anything and everything. Or how you could be so talkative – what a sweet meow you had!

Moosey enjoying HIS Christmas tree, earlier this week
You loved YOUR Christmas tree, window whiffies, belly rubs, and drinking water directly from the faucet. You also decided late in life that you actually enjoyed being brushed. And we love that you slept with us every night, but only after you went on patrol around the house.

We will love and miss you always, dearest Moosey, and we long for the day we see you again. Wait for us, okay?

Dad and Mom, and Zoe and Gracie, too

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday - Patch :)

Our handsome buddy Patch is a sweet, gentle and shy guy. Sadly, the "shy" part means this awesome kitty often gets overlooked by potential adopters. We just KNOW there's a quiet, purr-fect forever home out there for Patch. Until he finds it, we'll be sure to keep giving him lots of love, care and attention.

You can read more about Patch HERE.
