You're in for a treat today, because look who raised her pretty little paw when we asked for volunteers for this week's selfie. It's our adorable, gentle, and adoptable friend Babs! 💖

 

If you're wondering if Babs is as sweet as she looks in these photos, she absolutely is. This petite two year-old ladycat loves spending time with her human friends, especially when they talk with her sweetly and give her scritches on her cheeks and under her chin. We're so glad she ended up at PAWS after being found pregnant and living in an unfinished basement. In her foster home, she gave birth to two precious babies who have since been adopted. Now it's Babs' turn to find her very own happily ever after. She's spayed, current on her vaccinations, and ready to meet her forever best friend. Could it be you?

(Almost) Wordless Bambi

As you can see in these photos we took over the weekend, our beautiful and adoptable friend Bambi is a sweetheart through and through. 💖

 

We're so thankful Bambi found her way to PAWS. We're told she was rescued when she approached some humans on the street after being abandoned by her former family. (We can't imagine how or why they did this, but as mentioned, we're glad she's safe and loved now while she waits to find her true forever home.) This two year-old kitty is affectionate and friendly, adores people, and gets along with other nice cats. Bambi is spayed, current on her vaccinations, and ready to find love. Could it be with you?

Momo's Sunday Selfie

We're not sure who named our buddy Momo, but we think his moniker (which means "peach" in Japanese) is pretty appropriate. It's true. This handsome dude is one peach of a mancat!

Momo, who is about one year old, loves hanging out with and getting attention from his human pals. And though you can't tell it from these photos, he's quite the conversationalist! Momo is neutered, current on his vaccinations, and ready to find his forever family. Come meet him at PAWS today!

These "brothers from another mother" came to PAWS when their owner passed away. 💔 Despite that tragedy, Simba (3 years old) and Max (5 years old) have both adjusted well to life at the shelter. Full of love for humans and other kitties alike, these dudes are ready to find their new happily ever afters. Simba and Max are neutered, microchipped, and current on their vaccinations. Our wonderful friend Nicky is one of the nicest boys ever. And as you can see from his selfies, he's also devastatingly handsome, with the most amazing whiskers and eyebrows around!

Everyone at the shelter loves sweet, gentle Nicky. He was first rescued from life on the streets, but recently found himself homeless again when his human fell on hard times. Even though his road getting here has been a rough one, Nicky has maintained his purrfectly affectionate and gentle nature. He loves humans and gets along well with other nice kitties. (Almost) Wordless Casserole

As you can see from this photo, it's no exaggeration to say our adoptable pal Casserole has movie star good looks. And if you look closely, we think you can also see he has a sweet and gentle personality that make him just about purrfect.

Three year-old Casserole came to PAWS from a home that had way too many cats. This very unassuming and wonderful boy loves people and gets along well with other nice kitties. He's neutered, current on his vaccinations, microchipped, and ready to find his new best friend. Could that be you?

Handsome alert! Handsome alert! Just check out our adoptable friend Ashford, and you'll see we're not joking about him being handsome. 💖

He's also very sweet. This gentle giant really enjoys getting pets and attention from his human pals, and loves scritches under his chin and on his big cheeks. Ashford came to PAWS after being found abandoned outside as an un-neutered male. He has some scars that show he was picked on out there, but that's all behind him now. Ashford is such an amazing dude, and he's glad to be safe, warm, and loved while he waits for his forever home (we're glad, too!). He's about 3 years old, neutered, current on his vaccinations, and ready for his indoor happily ever after. Come meet Ashford today, and fall in love!

Like our beloved Target, Ashford has tested positive for FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus), but it's important to remember this does not mean he can't live a long and happy life. According to Best Friends Animal Society, "FIV-positive cats can live normal lives, both in quality and duration. They just need to be monitored for infections and dental issues. But if they’re well cared for, they can be healthy, happy, wonderful pets." FIV cannot be passed to other cats through casual contact, or by sharing food, water, or a litter box. Nor can it be passed to people or other pet species.

What's black and white, and fluffy all over? As you can see from this photo, the answer to the question is our adorable and adoptable buddy Mousse! Just look at those awesome whiskers, cute white toesies, and big round eyes! 💖

 

Mousse, who is about 7 months old, is a very sweet and gentle dude. And although the unfamiliar sights, smells, and sounds of the shelter have been a little bit intimidating for him, his confidence is growing with each passing day. He already loves the company of other gentle cats, and is starting to learn that humans are nice, too! We have no doubt that Mousse will positively blossom in his forever loving home. Our new buddy Tank is such a sweet and gentle guy. Check out these photos we took of him over the weekend. It's like he was just begging us to give him some petting and chin scritches. Of course we were more than happy to oblige! 💖

 

This big sweetheart was rescued from the streets, where from all indications he had been abandoned. It's clear that he's super happy to be inside, and safe, warm, and loved at PAWS. We're glad he's here, too, since that means he'll now get the forever home he truly deserves. He loves people and gets along with other nice kitties. When we asked the PAWS cats who wanted to volunteer for the first selfie of the new year, look who raised his sweet and handsome paw. It's our lovable friend Mr. Peaches!

 

Yes, this wonderful fella's eyes really are as blue as they look in these photos. And if you're thinking his fur looks nice and plush, you'd be 100% correct! Mr. Peaches also happens to be super snuggly; he settled right in between us without hesitation when we hung out with him and his roomies this weekend. In short, he's just about perfect, which makes it even more appalling to us that he was (literally) abandoned next to a dumpster by his evil former (sub) humans. Luckily for Mr. Peaches, a good Samaritan witnessed the betrayal, and brought him to the shelter. And that means this is the year Mr. Peaches will find his true and loving forever home. He's about 3 1/2 years old, neutered, current on his vaccinations, and a friend to humans and nice kitties alike. Come meet your new best friend Mr. Peaches today!

Happy New Year!

Happy MEW Year! Can you believe another year is in the books? We're purring and praying that 2025 will be a year of peace, love, and other good things. We know for a fact that'll be the case for the 422 (now former) PAWS kitties who found their happily ever afters in 2024. If you follow our blog, chances are you'll recognize some of the faces in this collage of 144 of our friends (including our very own Target in the upper left corner) who are celebrating the new year in their forever homes!

 

While we're celebrating all of those adoptions (and many more!), what better time than now to share a few happy tales? Thank you to fellow PAWS volunteer Beth Siegelbaum, who compiles and edits the amazing and uplifting "Monthly Meow" newsletter for staff and volunteers.
