Selfies by Herbie

This is our amazing and adoptable friend Herbie. And in case you're wondering, Herbie is indeed a love bug!

This handsome fellow is always the first to greet guests to the open room he shares with two other nice kitties. As you can see in the second photo, he's also quick to invite passers-by to come in for some catnip, snuggles, and good conversation. Herbie, who is is about 2 1/2 years old, is a happy-go-lucky dude who has been through a lot in his young life. After being rescued from the streets and adopted, his former humans moved and left him behind on the porch of their now-abandoned home, where he was found shivering during a snowstorm.

We are so grateful that he is safe and loved at PAWS. Herbie has quickly become a favorite of among the volunteers and staff,  and gets along famously with other nice cats. Herbie is neutered, current on his vaccinations, and ready to find his happily ever after. Come meet him today!

Herbie has tested positive for FIV, but it's important to remember this does not mean he can't live a long and happy life. According to Best Friends Animal Society, "FIV-positive cats can live normal lives, both in quality and duration. They just need to be monitored for infections and dental issues. But if they’re well cared for, they can be healthy, happy, wonderful pets." FIV cannot be passed to other cats through casual contact, or by sharing food, water, or a litter box. Nor can it be passed to people or other pet species.

It's Sunday, which means we're hopping along in the Sunday Selfies Blog Hop, hosted by our pals at The Cat On My Head. Be sure to check it out to see who else is hopping along (or to join in on the fun)!

Seflies by Tank

Our handsome and friendly pal Tank is a seriously photogenic housepanther. He also seems to often be in the right place at the right time for a visually interesting shot. See for yourself!

Tank and his awesome roommate Hashbrown
Tank loves catnip. He was rolling around in some right before this photo was taken.

Tank, who is about 3 1/2 years old, was seen being dumped by his (lousy) former humans. Luckily, some good Samaritans rescued him, and he was eventually brought to PAWS. He's a gentle giant, and sweet as can be. He loves being pet and gets along well with other nice cats. Tank is neutered and current on his vaccinations.

Tank has tested positive for FIV, but it's important to remember this does not mean he can't live a long and happy life.

Tank is such a good dude. To know him is to love him. So come meet Tank today, and fall in love!

(Almost) Wordless KITTENS :)

Despite a few little cold snaps, it's been a pretty mild winter around here. Which would go a long way to explain why last year's "kitten season" never really ended. In fact, PAWS still has a whole bunch of kittens who are ready to find their forever homes. One plus is that we've all been enjoying loving on these sweet babies, who will make amazing lifelong additions to the families lucky enough to adopt them.

This is just a melange of moments from the past two weekends. Some of these sweethearts have already been adopted, but we wanted to share with you all just how adorable and adoptable they all are! 💖

Selfies by Patsy

This week's fabulous selfies are brought to you by our super friendly, beautiful, and adoptable friend Patsy. If you can believe it, she's even more adorable in purrson!

Patsy, who is only about 1 1/2 years-old, came to PAWS when her previous family was evicted and she and her friends were left behind. We can't even begin to imagine the anguish they must have felt. One thing we do know is that Patsy's amazing personality and disposition would indicate that she was very much loved by her former family. She adores people of all ages and gets along with other nice cats, too. Patsy is spayed, current on vaccinations, and negative for FIV and FeLV. She's also ready to find her new forever home. Could it be with you?

(Almost) Wordless Buffy

Our adoptable housepanther pal Buffy is one of those cats who almost always makes us smile. She has the funniest meow, and can often be found racing around her room during her scheduled play time. Heck, Buffy even puts a smile on our face when she's just taking it easy. Here, see what we mean?

3 1/2 year-old Buffy came to PAWS after being found behind a row of small stores in a dangerous neighborhood. She definitely seems happy to be safe and loved at the shelter, but now she's ready to find her happily ever after. Buffy is spayed, current on her vaccinations, and negative for FIV and FeLV. Come meet her today, and see what all the smiling is about!

Selfies with Chungus

Valentine's Day is just around the corner. If you're looking for a big ol' hunk of love, look no further. Our pal Chungus is the most definitely the mancat for you!

Okay, we know you're wondering about how Chungus got his name (we certainly were when we first met him). We're told it's a mashup of his former name, "Chunky Gus." This big and gentle guy was rescued after being unceremoniously dumped in a feral cat colony with no idea how to care for himself. He's about 4 years old, neutered, and current on his vaccinations. He's super sweet and friendly, and even lived harmoniously with dogs and cats in his foster home.

Chungus has tested positive for FIV, but it's important to remember this does not mean he can't live a long and happy life.

Chungus is so ready to find his happily ever after. Is it with you?

(Almost) Wordless Bobby

As the saying goes, the pictures don't lie. As you can see in these snaps from this past weekend, our friendly and adoptable pal Bobby is handsome as they come. He also happens to be super friendly and adores chilling out with his human buddies (we know this from first-hand experience)!

Bobby, who is about one year old, ended up at PAWS after being found outside by some good citizens. We sure are glad he is here, safe and loved while he waits to find his forever home. Bobby is neutered, current on his vaccinations, and negative for FIV and FeLV. He will most definitely be a great best friend for whoever is lucky enough to adopt him. Come meet Bobby today, and fall in love!
