FURever Home Friday :)

Gucci the kitten has been adopted!  And while that's pretty darned exciting news, we know that in our last post, we promised you some good adult cat news.  So, are you ready? :)

Oliver has found his FOREVER forever home!  We were all sad when Ollie was returned to PAWS in late February (after having been adopted back in 2011).  During his stay, he had some much-needed dental work done, and we were delighted to watch his sweet and silly personality re-emerge.  We know Oliver will do well with his new forever family. :)

The other two stars of this edition of Furever Home Friday are Bella and Waldo. You may remember beautiful Bella, who was returned to PAWS when her owner passed away.  After waiting for more than 10 months, she's finally started her new "happily ever after."  But she won't be starting it alone, because she was adopted together with Waldo!  We hadn't yet had the opportunity to blog about Waldo, a super friendly 6-year old special needs cat (his front legs are severely disfigured) who ended up at PAWS after being found next to a dumpster.  Just look at his sweet face! :)

Bella and Waldo were adopted by a fellow shelter volunteer, so we hope to share periodic updates about how they're doing. :)

Finally, here's a picture of Bijoux in her forever home.  Doesn't she look great (and happy)?

Bijoux is in the HER house!
Concatulations to all of the new PAWS graduates and their families!

Have a great day, everybody!

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday

Even with kitten season in full swing (as demonstrated by a preponderance of cuties like the one in the above photo), there's still a bunch of happy adult cat news happening at PAWS.  We'll share some of it in our next post! :)

Easy Like Sunday

Mercedes (left) and Milo
As you can see, Mercedes and Milo are taking it easy today. Rumor has it they and their Room 5 pals are resting up to take part in some Cat World Domination Day festivities a little later.  And to help celebrate the birthdays of our blogging pals Sparkle (Sparkle the Designer Cat), Chica (Cats of Wildcat Woods), Bella (The Monkeys), and Derry (Fuzzy Tales).  Happy birthday, friends! :)

Have a great Sunday, everyone!

FURever Home Friday :)

Fridays are almost always good, aren't they?  But FURever Home Fridays are THE BEST!  After all, what better way to end your work week (and start your weekend) than with a celebration of PAWS cats who have begun their very own "happily ever afters?" :)

Do you remember sweet and sensitive Sandy?  Well, he's been adopted!
Sandy has been adopted!

And what about pretty, tri-colored Callie?  She was gotcha'd, too!
So was Callie!

And how about handsome and friendly mancat Jack?  You guessed it ... adopted!
"Me too, me too!" says Jack

Here's the full list of the most recent PAWS graduates.  Congratulations, sweet friends!  We love you and we'll miss you all, but are so, so happy that you've found loving homes of your very own.

Easy SUNday and an Award :)

Beautiful (but very shy) Violet is enjoying some Father's Day sun puddles.

And while we're on the subjects of SUN and light, we got an award!  Our pal Mica Minnie Moo over at the totally pawsome Twinkletoe Tails and sweet Ana at the wonderful Mewsings of Garden Cottage Cats gave Moosey the Illuminating Blogger Award.  The rules for this award are really simple: the recipients have to share something about themselves that others might not know. Take it away, Moosey!

Hi everybuddy, and fanks Mica Minnie Moo!  Okay, so here's the thing.  I love smelling stuff.  Mom and Dad say they can understand why I sniff stuff that comes from outside our house (like groceries, shoes, boxes, and work bags).  I'm pretty sure they greatly appreciate my attention to safety and quality control.  What they don't seem to understand, however, is why I feel the need to sniff my brother Sammy every single time I see him.  Hey, I know he's an indoor-only cat (like me).  And I know I've lived here for four whole years.   But a mancat just can't be too careful, you know?  I mean, how do I really know where Sammy's been, or what he's been up to?  Just saying.  :)

Now comes the hard part ... passing the award along to JUST five other bloggers.  Moosey chose:

Minnie at Fraidy Cats
Jimmy at Cat's Cats
Miles Meezer at Meezer Tails
Two Two at Marg's Pets

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY, EVERYBODY!

Three Pic Thursday - Virginia

Virginia is a sweet and curious tabby. This beautiful girl is still pretty new to PAWS, but she's settling right in, and taking advantage of the cat condo, fun toys and cat-level mirrors in the shelter's meeting room. :)

Our 300th Post :)

Moosey and Sammy
Hi!  It's us, Moosey and Sammy (in avatar form, thanks to our dear sweet pals at Twinkletoe Tails), here to share the exciting news that this is the 300th post of Animal Shelter Volunteer Life! :)

We (and our mom and dad) wanted to take this opportunity to give thanks, because we have a lot for which to be thankful.

We're grateful that we have this forum for sharing about the awesome and adoptable PAWS cats.  And we're thankful for PAWS and other places like it that provide safe and loving havens for animals while they wait to find their very own forever homes.  And most of all, we give big thanks for all of our amazing and supportive blogging friends from around the world.  Your friendship and encouragement mean so very much to us! :)

Hugs, nosetaps, and head bonks to you all!

Happy Gotcha Day, Moosey!

Today is a very special day in our house. It was four years ago that Tracey and I brought our Moosey home to live happily ever after as part of our family. :)

It's my Gotcha Day?
We met Moosey while volunteering at PAWS, and absolutely fell in love with his playful, easygoing personality. We found this amazing, especially given what he had been through.  PAWS rescued Moosey and a bunch of other cats from a kill shelter, where they ended up after being part of a hoarding situation.  As if that wasn't enough, these poor kitties were found to have ringworm, so they had to undergo regular sulfur dips until they were ringworm-free.  Not nice at all!  But through it all, Moosey's easygoing nature shone brightly. :)

Moosey at PAWS
Moosey pretty much made himself at home from day one.

And he has not looked back since.  Over the past four years, we've seen even more of his true personality emerge.  We've discovered he likes to play with the water from the bathtub faucet.  Loves eating lettuce.  Enjoys hugs and snuggles.  And that he is a faithful and efficient bed warmer (he sleeps with us every night)!

Happy Gotcha Day, sweet Moosey!

We are so lucky to have gotcha'd you.  Thank you for gracing us with your cuteness, and for making us laugh and smile every day.  We love you, little buddy!

Mancat Monday - Gulliver

Gulliver is a friendly, sweet and talkative mancat.  He loves being pet, and playing with string toys.  He also gives great head bonks!  "Gullie" absolutely loves people, and gets along well with some other cats.

Gulliver is approximately 6 years old. He is neutered, micro-chipped, current on all his vaccinations and has tested negative for FIV and FeLV.   Come meet him, and fall in love today! :)

FURever Home Friday

Guess what?  Even though kitten season is now in full swing, we have some wonderful ADULT CAT adoption news to share!  Get ready to smile, because here we go...

Margo says, "Yay! I've been adopted!"
Remember Margot, the silly beauty who came to PAWS from a home where she was mistreated?  Well ... after being at the shelter for more than two years, she's found her very own loving forever home! She will be an only cat, and have a mommy all to herself.  Way to go, Margot!

And that's not all.  Margot's fellow adult cats Hunny and Frederick have also been adopted!

Sweet Hunny has found love. :)

So has handsome Frederick (photo from the awesome Sundays at the Shelter)
And yes, we also had some kitten adoptions (we celebrate those, too, of course).  Fuji -- the kitten in our last post -- was adopted.  His new name is Maneki Neko, and he has joined a loving family of former shelter cats!  Also finding forever families were Kyoto, Namosa, Paula Red and Punkin. :)

Concatulations to these (young and young-at-heart) PAWS graduates and their new families!

Have a great weekend, everybody. :)
