(Almost) Wordless Sophie

You know how some of us age more gracefully than others? Well, that's certainly how it is with our super sweet and adoptable friend, Sophie. Can you believe this gorgeous ladycat is 18 1/2 years old?

Sophie likes hanging out with her people pals, enjoys some good old-fashioned lap time, and loves to play. Yes, you read that right ... this mature feline is absolutely still in touch with her inner kitten, and is not averse to a spirited game of batting a toy on a string and/or chasing the red (laser) dot. Sophie, who ended up at PAWS when her family lost their home, is spayed, micro-chipped, and current on her vaccinations. She has tested negative for FIV and FeLV. Sophie qualifies for the PAWS Senior Pension Plan, which includes: no adoption fee, an annual wellness exam, vaccinations and blood work analysis for free for the rest of her life. Come meet her today!

Easy Like Sunday Selfie - (Our) Gracie

It's Sunday, which means we're hopping along in the Sunday Selfies Blog Hop, hosted by our beloved pals at the Cat on My Head. Anyhow ... when we asked for a volunteer selfie model, guess who stepped up? It's our beautiful former PAWS kitty, Gracie. Her snuggling, sunpuddle surfing and easy skills are already the stuff of legend, but as you can see, our senior housepanther ladycat can also still rock a selfie when the mood strikes.

Gracie (who lost her littermate, Zoe, in September) is doing well these days. She and her little sister Ava (who was specially chosen by our sweet Angel Zoe) are settling in to a really nice groove. They're still not best buddies, but are getting along just fine.😸

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday - Tabitha

Straight-up adorable. That kind of sums up our beautiful and adoptable buddy Tabitha. This gentle, lap-loving kitty ended up at PAWS after being abandoned by her previous humans. But before you go and feel sorry for her, you should know that Tabitha hasn't missed a beat. From day one, she's made it clear to all of us that she's a friend to pretty much everyone lucky enough to meet her.  Oh, and did we mention she loves a nice warm lap (as evidenced in the first and third photos)? 😸

Tabitha is about 5 years old. She is spayed, micro-chipped, current on her vaccinations, and negative for FIV and FeLV. Potential adopters should be aware that Tabitha was front paw declawed at some point in her life, so she absolutely, positively must be an indoor-only cat. (For the record, we (and PAWS) are strongly against the barbaric procedure of declawing.)

Tabitha is just about purrfect. Now all she needs is a happy forever home. Is it with you? 💟

Sunday Selfies with Yu Yu

Our new pal, Yu Yu, isn't just another handsome face. He also happens to be super friendly and sweet (you can kind of see it shining through in these photos, don't you think?). We were sad to learn this gentle giant found himself at PAWS after his owner became ill and could no longer care for him.

Yu Yu is about 9 1/2. He's neutered, micro-chipped, current on his vaccinations, and negative for FIV and FeLV. He is still adjusting to being at the shelter, but we already know this photogenic kitty loves being pet and enjoys spending time with us volunteers. He gets along well with other nice kitties, but would also be fine as an only cat. Come meet Yu Yu today, and fall in love!

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday - Puffy

Happy Valentine's Day! This handsome mancat is our sweet and super gentle friend Puffy. If you need help interpreting his mood in the first photo, we're pretty sure that's his "more snuggles and petting, please" look. He gives the PAWS staff and volunteers that look a lot.😸

Puffy is about 14 years old, but he wants everyone to know he's got a lot more living to do, and a lot more love to give. He enjoys being pet, getting brushed and hanging out with his human pals. He gets along with other nice cats (he'd make a great companion for another senior cat), but would also be great as your one and only kitty. Because Puffy is what some might call "mature," he qualifies for the PAWS Senior Pension Plan, which includes: no adoption fee, an annual wellness exam, vaccinations and blood work analysis for free for the rest of his life. So, what are you waiting for? Come meet Puffy today, and fall in love!

Sunday Selfie with Our New Kid Ava!

As many of you know, our beloved Zoe made her journey to the Rainbow Bridge this past September. We were all devastated by her loss - especially her sister and littermate, Gracie - but we knew Zoe and our other angels would be watching over us. We also knew that when the time was right, Zoe would bring another kitty into our lives. Well, guess what? It's happened. And she chose another housepanther! Without further ado, here's the newest member of our family (and Gracie's new sister), Ava!

Ava (formerly known as Theta) was first adopted from PAWS as a kitten. Sadly, the family who adopted her had a dog, of whom Ava was terrified. From what we know, she hid in the attic for 9 months, and then the people caught her and brought her back to the shelter. Even with her sweet and gentle nature intact, Ava was (understandably) pretty skittish and shy when she came back. Of course, that meant she wasn't exactly "showing well" to potential adopters. But as we got to know Ava again, we started thinking (thanks, Angel Zoe!) that maybe, just maybe, she would fit into our family, and be a great little sister for Gracie. And after one month with her here as a foster kitty, we knew in our hearts that this is where she belongs. As you can see from the photos, she's gaining in confidence with each passing day. She loves lap time, playing, looking out the windows, laying in sunpuddles and running all over the house. She and sister Gracie aren't curling up together (yet), but they have touched noses, played and been super respectful of each other. 😸

Welcome to your real forever home, Baby Ava. We love you!

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday with Zatz

As much as we love spending time with our beautiful friend, Zatz, it boggles our minds as to why she's still waiting at PAWS to be discovered by her forever family. As you can see from these photos, this sweet kitty is calm and beautiful, and has gorgeous eyes.

Zatz also loves her some laptime, so whoever is lucky enough to adopt her will be getting a new best friend AND a warm lap! Zatz is about 9 years old. She gets along with other nice cats, but would be fine as an only kitty. She is spayed, micro-chipped and current on her vaccinations, and has tested negative for FIV and FeLV. All she needs is a chance. Come meet Zatz, and fall in love!

Easy Like Sunday Selfie - Sassy

Here's our sweet and beautiful friend, Sassy, taking a little time out from her snoopervising duties in the PAWS records room to participate in today's Sunday Selfies Blog Hop. She rocked her selfie, don't you think? Just look at that adorable face! And those big round eyes. 😺

Having taken care of her selfie, Sassy also wanted to remind everybuddy to get some rest and relaxation in today. So, here's her "Easy Like Sunday" pose.

Sassy is an amazing kitty. She's loved by the PAWS staff and volunteers alike, but is so ready to find her very own happily ever after. Is it with you?
