Handsome Tucker is about three years old, but he looks much younger.
He's also quite the comedian.
He has lots of energy,
And plays like a kitten!
As you might guess, this fun boy would do best in a home with humans who will interact a lot with him. Tucker gets along with some other cats, and is neutered, micro-chipped, and current on his vaccinations. He has tested negative for FIV and FeLV. If you're looking for love and laughter, Tucker's the cat for you! :)
As you can see, she's gorgeous. Nice job on your selfie, Artemis! :)
Of course, no Sunday is complete without a little bit of EASY. And with that, here's handsome mancat Cappy, who quite clearly has this relaxation thing down to an art...
Zzzzzzzzzz...
Artemis and Cappy are both waiting for forever homes of their own. Come meet them at PAWS today!
Having a little selfie fun with our beautiful and adoptable pal, Swizzle. Isn't she gorgeous? :)
As we do most every week, we're taking part in the Sunday Selfies Blog Hop, hosted by our awesome pals at The Cat On My Head. Click here to visit them, and to see who else is participating (and/or to join in the fun)! :)
Today is Thankful Thursday, and we wanted express our gratitude to our amazing friends and family for the remarkable outpouring of care and concern since our sweet Moosey made his journey to the Rainbow Bridge.
Thank you, Ann (Zoolatry), for this lovely memorial badge.
All of us here are dealing with Moosey's loss in our own way, but bound together by love. Zoe clearly misses her brother, and we can see that she is not quite herself. It's a tough adjustment, but we know she (and all of us) will be okay in time, and that there will come a day when memories of Moosey bring more smiles than tears. Until then, we are so grateful for your love, compassion, purrs and prayers. Thanks and love to you all.
Even though we're all still sad that Moosey had to go to the Bridge, we're wishing Dad Kevin a beautiful birthday filled with things that make him happy. We know for a fact that Angel Moosey is wishing him the same exact thing. :)
Heaven is a little brighter, but we are completely heartbroken.
On Thursday morning, our sweet, gentle and handsome Moosey left us for the Rainbow Bridge.
The complications of so many serious ailments finally caught up with our blue-eyed wondercat, and after a few not-so-good days, and a very rough night, we took him to our wonderful vet first thing Thursday morning. A thorough examination revealed that Moosey was very sick, and that the prognosis for his recovery was poor. Tracey and I knew in our hearts that it would not be fair to subject our 15 year-old little guy to yet more treatments, medicines, or discomfort. So, with both of us petting and kissing him, and whispering “we love you” in his ears, Moosey flew peacefully to the Rainbow Bridge.
We know we made the right decision, but that does not lessen the incredible pain and utter sadness we feel. We were blessed to have Moosey with us for 7 ½ years, and to know him at PAWS prior to that. We can’t remember life without him, and his passing has cast a long, dark shadow.
Sweet Moosey, we will never, ever forget you. Our hearts will ache, but also be warmed, whenever we remember the things that made you so awesome. Like the way you loved snuggling with your mom and dad, and how you would insist on lying between us on the couch. And how you would gently tap us with your paw to make a connection (or to tell us it was time to eat). And that your favorite snack was lettuce!
You had such a calm and gentle nature, and were so tolerant about everything, including taking your meds, getting in the cat carrier, and even going to the vet. We will never forget your beautiful blue eyes, or your striped lemur tail. Or how you were such a diligent helper/snoopervisor with anything and everything. Or how you could be so talkative – what a sweet meow you had!
Moosey enjoying HIS Christmas tree, earlier this week
You loved YOUR Christmas tree, window whiffies, belly rubs, and drinking water directly from the faucet. You also decided late in life that you actually enjoyed being brushed. And we love that you slept with us every night, but only after you went on patrol around the house.
We will love and miss you always, dearest Moosey, and we long for the day we see you again. Wait for us, okay?
Our handsome buddy Patch is a sweet, gentle and shy guy. Sadly, the "shy" part means this awesome kitty often gets overlooked by potential adopters. We just KNOW there's a quiet, purr-fect forever home out there for Patch. Until he finds it, we'll be sure to keep giving him lots of love, care and attention.
This is our handsome buddy Kossack. He's a true gentle giant, and as you can see, he also happens to take a pretty good selfie.
Taking selfies (and getting scritches and pets, and warming my lap for a bit) is apparently very tiring. Just a few minutes later, Kossack also demonstrated some serious "Easy Like Sunday" skills...
We're participating in the Sunday Selfies Blog Hop, hosted by our most wonderful pals at The Cat on My Head. They're featuring a very special kitty today, so be sure to take a look, and to visit all of the Sunday Selfies Blog Hop participants here!
Meet our adorable and adoptable friend, Lucy. Adjusting to life at the shelter hasn't been easy for this pretty housepanther. It was evident right away that she was overwhelmed by the unfamiliar sights, sounds and smells that came with the experience. Nervous and scared, she would hiss, growl, and lash out when we would clean her cage or feed her. But something in her eyes told us she was open to trusting humans again.
And then, it began happening. Lucy would calmly smell our hands through her cage bars, and play with toys through them, too. And within the last two weeks, she has begun letting us volunteers pet her, and is hanging out with us when we visit! It also turns out that she is a catnip connoisseur. In a quiet and patient home, we are supremely confident that Lucy will blossom, and that her transformation into some lucky human's loving best friend will be complete. :)
Lucy is about 8 years old, spayed, micro-chipped, and current on her vaccinations. She has tested negative for FIV and FeLV. Now all she needs is someone to give her the chance she wants and deserves.
We love taking part in the Sunday Selfies Blog Hop, hosted by our pals at The Cat On My Head. This week's SELFIE participant is our shy but sweet (and adoptable) friend, Emily. Isn't she gorgeous?
Emily is about 5 1/2 years old. She's spayed, micro-chipped, current on her vaccinations, and has tested negative for FIV and FeLV. Emily gets along with most other cats, and would do best in a quieter home.
No Sunday would be complete without a good, old-fashioned EASY. This excellent demonstration of relaxamicating is brought to you by our beautiful (and adoptable) buddy, Bella. Here she is, enjoying a head cradle and some scritches from (her favorite volunteer) Tracey. :)
“Piglet noticed that even though he had a very small heart, it could hold a rather large amount of Gratitude.” A.A. Milne, Winnie the Pooh
We have so much for which to be grateful. We give thanks for those who adopt shelter animals and/or take in homeless pets ... you recognize just how special these wonderful creatures are, and you've opened up your hearts to them. Thank you also to those who help shelter animals, donate time and resources, advocate for animals, serve as fosters, care for feral cats, or participate in trap-neuter-return programs. You are heroes, one and all.
We're also thankful for our families and many friends (including, of course, the ones we've made through blogging). Thank you for sharing your lives with us, and for sharing in ours.
Wishing all who celebrate the happiest of Thanksgivings.
It's Sunday, and you know what that means. It's time for the Sunday Selfies Blog Hop*. Trying their paw at some selfie fun today are super sweet, handsome and adoptable mancats, Rocky and Spotty.
Rocky
Rocky is about 2 years old, playful and gentle. He gets along with other cats, especially ones who are not dominant. And just look at that adorable face. :) He's neutered, micro-chipped, and current on his vaccinations. He is negative for FIV and FeLV.
Spotty
Spotty is about 5 years old, and is the king of all lap cats. With winter on the way, who wouldn't want a sweet and loving lap warmer? Like Rocky, Spotty gets along well with other kitties. He is neutered, micro-chipped, and current on his vaccinations. He, too, has tested negative for FIV and FeLV.
Have a great Sunday, everybuddy!

These two handsome six month-old brothers are named "Whatchamacallit" and "Do-Hickey."
Do-Hickey. Just look at that regal pose!
We're not sure how these guys got their names, but we know for sure that they're both playful, sweet and lovable.
Whatchamacallit. Check out the cool stripes on his legs!
Since they're from the same litter, they're bonded. It sure would be nice if they could be adopted together. Do-Hickey and Whatchamacallit are both neutered, micro-chipped, current on their vaccinations, and negative for FIV and FeLV. Now all they need is a forever home. Is it yours?
Today is Sunday, so we're taking it easy AND taking part in the Sunday Selfies Blog Hop, hosted by our dear friends, the Kitties Blue, at The Cat On My Head. Getting things started is our adorable pal, Morita, who's settled in for a Sunday easy in her beloved ESS. Looking good, Morita! :)
And here's devastatingly handsome mancat Cappy, showing off his excellent selfie skills. He did a great job, don't you think?
Morita and Cappy are both waiting at PAWS for their forever homes.
Good Gravy! Our beautiful, adoptable friend Gravy is one of the sweetest kitties ever. Sadly, this little ladycat found herself at the shelter when her human could no longer afford to keep her.
We're pretty sure Gravy got lots of love in her former home, because she is a super-snuggly, well-socialized purr-monster.
And just look at that face. Isn't she adorable?
Gravy is about 6 years old, spayed, micro-chipped and current on her vaccinations. She has tested negative for FIV and FeLV. She loves people, and now all she needs is a forever home. Come meet her at PAWS!
It's Sunday! And as it usually does, that means we're participating in the Sunday Selfies Blog Hop, hosted by our awesome pals at The Cat on My Head. Leading things off is a super suave selfie by one of our favorite adoptable mancats, Gabe. Don't you just love this big guy's smile?
Speaking of love ... what's not to love about the relaximacating prowess of another of our adoptable friends, Sir Nigel Purrsworth? Sweet dreams, Nigel.
Here's hoping YOUR Sunday is filled with smiles and relaxation, too.
Today, we're participating in the annual "BlogBlast for Peace." Started by Mimi Lenox in 2006, this movement has grown to include thousands of bloggers in hundreds of countries - and countless other folks on various forms of social media - all taking the day to spread messages of love, hope and peace. Beautiful, isn't it?
This year, our peace globe features some of our amazing, adoptable cat friends from PAWS. Our wish for them is the one we have for all beings, everywhere: lives and homes that are abundantly full of peace and love.
Isn't she lovely? This is our sweet, playful and outgoing new friend, Sophie.
Sophie is super friendly with people, gets along with some other kitties, and would be a wonderful addition to almost any home. And we're pretty sure that look on her face means, "please come sit down next to me, so I can give you some snuggles." Because that's exactly what happened right after these photos were taken. :)
Sophie is about 8 years old, spayed, micro-chipped, and current on her vaccinations. She is negative for FIV and FeLV. She also has a nice smile. See?
Our strikingly beautiful friend, Cookie, is aptly named. She's as sweet as they come! She also takes a great SELFIE, don't you think? :)
Cookie is about 4 years old, spayed, micro-chipped, and current on her vaccinations. She has tested negative for FIV and FeLV. She loves people, gets along with other kitties, and she's waiting to meet you!
As for the EASY part of today's post, that's being handled by our handsome, lovable and gentle friends, Ryker and Patch. As you can see, they've both perfected the "hangover" relaxation technique. :)
Ryker (at left) and Patch are very good boys!
You can see more pictures of our buddy Patch here, and our pal Ryker here.
