(Almost) Wordless Wednesday - Merritt

Isn't our adoptable torbie pal, Merritt, gorgeous?

Merritt is about 4 years old, spayed, micro-chipped, and up to date on all her vaccinations.  This playful ladycat has tested negative for FIV and FeLV.  She gets along with some other cats, and would probably do best in a quieter home without small children.

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday - Olga

This is our pretty friend Olga.  She's about one year old.

Olga arrived at PAWS as a stray a few months ago.

We hope Olga's forever family finds her soon.  In the meantime, this gentle girl is getting lots of love and attention from all of her volunteer human pals.

Olga gets along well with other kitties, and would probably do best in a quieter home.  She is spayed, micro-chipped, up-to-date on her vaccinations, and has tested negative for FIV and FeLV.  Come meet her today! :)

FURever Home Friday :)

Those of you who've been following Animal Shelter Volunteer Life for a while probably remember our gorgeous and petite friend, Tessa.  She's the long-haired, grey and white tuxedo cat who is nearly smack dab in the middle of our blog header. We've also featured her in posts a number of times.  Tessa first came to PAWS in January of 2011, and she's come very close to being adopted more than once.  Well, guess what?  (You kind of know what's coming, don't you?) Tessa has been...

Tessa's new mommy recently had to say goodbye to her beloved kitty (whose time it was to go to the Rainbow Bridge).  When her heart was ready to love and adopt another, she met Tessa.  And the rest, as they say, is history. :)

Look who else found forever homes since our last FURever Home Friday post!

Also joining the adoption parade were:
Benjamin
Button
Dame Judi Dench (aka DJD)
Will

Congratulations to all of the graduates and their new families!

And to close this post, here's an update from the family of PAWS graduate Benny (formerly Bender) that's sure to give you even more smiles...

We adopted "Bender" who is now Benny in Sept. He is doing fantastic!! He
adjusted great and got so big and tall from then until now.  I absolutely love
him.  You will see below he is very comfortable and loves his home.

Have a great weekend, everybody!

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday - Grover

Looking for love? Then look no further than our handsome and sweet pal, Grover, 'cause he's FULL of love.  We're not sure how Grover ended up on the streets (he was found as a stray), but it's clear he learned about love from someone who adored him very much.

Grover loves laps, snuggles and being pet.  He's about 10 years old, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all of his vaccinations.  He gets along with other kitties, and has tested negative for FIV and FeLV.  Oh, and he's waiting to meet you. :)

Easy Like Sunday - Moosey (with an update)

Hi everybuddy!  It's me, Moosey!  So many of you have been purring and praying for me, and asking about how I'm doing, so we thought this would be a great time to give you all an update.

Last weekend, Mom and Dad took me to the v-e-t.  The nice technicians weighed me, stole my bloods (!) and took my blood pressure.  I was cool, calm and sweet during all of that, but I can tell you I sure was happy we got to come home right afterwards.  On Monday, Dr. L. called to say that my test results had came back, and that they were good!  The medicine (spironolactone) and the potassium supplement I am taking every day are working to keep my potassium levels where they should be.  She said my potassium levels are perfect for now!  My blood pressure is (on the high side of) normal, and my kidney levels are staying steady, too.  Oh, and I'm also maintaining my weight. :)

With such a positive report, we're all sleeping a little easier these days...

Thank you, everybuddy, for your love, concern and continued friendship.  Have a peaceful, snoozy and EASY Sunday.

Big hugs and headbonks,

Moosey (and Gracie and Zoe, and Mom and Dad, too)

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday Whiskers - Nassau

Gentle and petite Nassau is sweet, gentle, friendly, and WHISKERY! :)

This beautiful ladycat really enjoys spending time with her volunteer pals, and gets along with the other cats in her room, too.

Nassau would do best in a quieter home, and promises to give whoever is lucky enough to adopt her lots and lots of love.  She's about 7 years-old, spayed, up-to-date on her vaccinations, and microchipped.  She has tested negative for FIV and FeLV.

Flashback Friday Friends

Check out this picture our friend (and fellow longtime volunteer), Maggie, found recently in her files.  She took it at PAWS about nine years ago.  The big kitty is our (Mom Tracey and Dad Kevin's) angel Lady Madonna.  The image brought back a flood of memories, including the fact that these kittens were NOT Lady Madonna's.  One of our favorite things about Lady is that she loved all cats and kittens.  And she was more than happy to play the role of cuddly auntie to these two babies (Dipsy and Doodle) whose biological mommy wasn't really into the more tender aspects of motherhood.

Flash forward to about 1 1/2 weeks ago.  Maggie (who many of you know through her awesome Sundays at the Shelter blog) saw something that gave her pause when she looked at the faces of PAWS newcomers Roxy and Tripper.  When she asked us what we thought, Tracey and I saw it, too.  Do you?

Roxy
Tripper
Yep, you guessed it ... Roxy and Tripper are Dipsy and Doodle, all grown up.  We don't know why they've ended up back at PAWS after all these years, but we know they are friendly, gentle and still very attached to each other.  While it sort of breaks our hearts to see them back, we're glad our long lost friends will be safe, warm and loved until they find their new happily ever after.

Another baby picture of Roxy (left) and Tripper
Maybe you, or somebody you know, can give these sweet siblings the second chance they so deserve?
