(Almost) Wordless Grimm

With Thanksgiving rapidly approaching, we're giving big thanks for our super handsome, super friendly, and super adoptable friend Grimm. Check out how amazing his eyes are against his plush black fur!

We're grateful that Grimm is at PAWS while he waits to be discovered by his forever loving family, especially because he had a tough road getting here. This affectionate, sweet, and playful boy was born in a backyard breeder situation where unscrupulous breeder did not disclose the fact that the cats being used for breeding were positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). As you might expect, Grimm is also positive for FIV*.  But because he is young and otherwise healthy -- and gets along well with other cats -- he has a great life ahead of him. Grimm is about 1 1/2 years old, neutered, and current on his vaccinations. Now all he needs is a forever home. We hope it comes in time for the holidays!

*As mentioned, Grimm has tested positive for FIV, but it's important to remember this does not mean he can't live a long and happy life. According to Best Friends Animal Society, "FIV-positive cats can live normal lives, both in quality and duration. They just need to be monitored for infections and dental issues. But if they’re well cared for, they can be healthy, happy, wonderful pets." FIV cannot be passed to other cats through casual contact, or by sharing food, water, or a litter box. Nor can it be passed to people or other pet species.

Poor Grimm. I'm glad he's safe at PAWS while he waits for his own family. I probably shouldn't share my thoughts about the breeder he was rescued from!

From tragedy came glory ... may he continue on to the love of a home that he truly deserves. (Can he have a new name ... nothing "grim" about this beautiful boy ...)

Grimm is gorgeous. Love his eyes and dark fur 😻
I'm glad he's safe at PAWS now, that sounds like a rough beginning. I hope he does find his home soon with someone who understands FIV+ and can give him lots of love and attention.

Hope you are all doing well and have a great Thanksgiving!

We are hoping Grimm gets adopted soon. Socks lived to a ripe old age with Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). They think he was probably born with it as it was in his bone marrow. But it never showed up on regular test for it. The bone marrow test was for the issues he was having with his thyroid medication. And overall he was always a very healthy cat. And we are sure Grimm will have a long healthy life too.
