With Thanksgiving rapidly approaching, we're giving big thanks for our super handsome, super friendly, and super adoptable friend Grimm. Check out how amazing his eyes are against his plush black fur!
We're grateful that Grimm is at PAWS while he waits to be discovered by his forever loving family, especially because he had a tough road getting here. This affectionate, sweet, and playful boy was born in a backyard breeder
situation where unscrupulous breeder did not disclose the fact that the cats being used for breeding were positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). As you might expect, Grimm is also positive for FIV*. But because he is young and otherwise healthy -- and gets along well with other cats -- he has a great life ahead of him. Grimm is about 1 1/2 years old, neutered, and current on his vaccinations. Now all he needs is a forever home. We hope it comes in time for the holidays!
*As mentioned, Grimm has tested positive for FIV, but it's important to remember this does not mean he can't live a long and happy life. According to Best Friends Animal Society, "FIV-positive cats can live normal lives, both in quality and duration. They just need to be monitored for infections and dental issues. But if they’re well cared for, they can be healthy, happy, wonderful pets." FIV cannot be passed to other cats through casual contact, or by sharing food, water, or a litter box. Nor can it be passed to people or other pet species.
