(Almost) Wordless Wednesday - Pumpkin

This is our sweet, gentle and adoptable friend, Pumpkin. If she looks familiar to those of you who are familiar with our blog, it's because she has been waiting at PAWS for quite some time for her forever home.

It makes us sad that wonderful cats like Pumpkin get overlooked, simply because they're a little more reserved and shy around people they don't know well.

We wish potential adopters could see what we see whenever we spend time with Pumpkin - an awesome kitty who will blossom in a real home, and who will be a loving, faithful friend, if given the chance.

We sure hope someone gives Pumpkin the gift of a forever home for the holidays.

Pumpkin is about 12 years old, spayed, micro-chipped, current on her vaccinations, and has tested negative for FIV and FeLV. She's got lots more living to do, and would be a great best friend to whoever is lucky enough to adopt her. She also qualifies for the PAWS Pension Plan, which features no fee adoptions for cats 12 years and older, with the following included at no cost for the life of the cat: a yearly exam and senior blood workup analysis, and vaccinations as recommended by the PAWS vet. Come meet Pumpkin today!

On another note, you may have noticed that our blog has been magically transformed for the holidays, courtesy of our good friend Ann at Zoolatry. Thank you Ann, for all you do for the pet blogging community, and for our super festive header - we absolutely love it (and you)! :)

  7. Pumpkin, you are so sweet and purrfect, and we are purring that your forever home is not far away! We purr and pray every day for all kitties awaiting their forever homes. At least kitties like Pumpkin are so very lucky to have the wonderful people at PAWS to care for and love them in the meantime! And, we love the festive look of your blog! Purrfection!

  13. Your holiday header is our favorite of any we have seen. Ann is so super talented. We see the lovely Pumpkin today. We still hope to sponsor her, but Mom has not done anything about it as yet. She is not back to being anywhere near organized since losing our special girl. Sending you all lots of love and thanks for everything you do to help the PAWS kitties. 20. Oh, sweet, dear Pumpkin! If only everyone knew how special, loyal, and loving Ginger Princesses are, you wouldn't be there one second longer! Sending out our adoption vibes (extra strong ones from our four Ginger Princesses) that your forever family get to you very soon!

  21. I think of this quote:
"Nobody sees a flower really; it is so small. We haven't time, and to see takes time - like to have a friend takes time." Georgia O'Keeffe
Many people come to the shelter and quickly choose a cat in minutes, missing the ones who don't immediately interact with them. Pumpkin is a beautiful cat and well worth the time it takes to make friends with her.

    1. Love the quote, Maggie. So apropos. Maybe we should print that out, and put it on Pumpkin's cage?

  22. Some great incentives for someone getting an older gal like girl, Pumpkin. I love all animals but some of my favorites cats have been black cats and orange cats. She looks quite sweet and she has beautiful eyes. Hopefully she'll be the missing piece to someone's puzzle very soon.
    Good luck Pumpkin! xo

  24. It is sad when beautiful, adoptable kitties who are shy or are older get passed by. It happens at our shelter down here in the swamps, too. If we are ever again looking to adopt a cat, i want to ask our shelter director for one she thinks will not likely get adopted easily.

  25. Pumpkin is such a beautiful kitty. She seems so sweet! Shy kitties can be wonderful. My Cinco was very shy and I couldn't have loved him more. I hope that someone decides to give Pumpkin the best Christmas gift ever - a forever home. I'm loving the blog makeover too!

  29. What a gorgeous girl. And I know what you mean about the shy types. I always say that they need to work on their salesmanship. But I know it isn't easy for these older kitties to put themselves out there for strangers. Many of them are shy for reasons they just can't explain. But I'm hoping Pumpkin turns a corner soon and wows the right family. She looks like a wonderful cat.
