Selfies by Eric the Red

Look who raised his paw when we were looking for a volunteer for this week's selfie. It's our handsome,  sweet, and super friendly pal Eric the Red!

Eric was brought to PAWS by a good Samaritan, who rescued him after his former family abandoned him. Thank goodness for that kind rescuer (and a pox on Eric's former humans)! Anyway, Eric was pretty nervous when her first got to the shelter. He's a sweet and sensitive kitty, and all the unfamiliar sights, sounds, and smells were certainly quite a shock. Now that he's settling in, though, it's clear how wonderful he is. We hung out with one year-old Eric today, and we can tell you that he's a bonafide lovebug and lap cat! He's neutered, current on his vaccinations, and negative for FIV and FeLV. With winter coming soon, this guy is ready to help keep his new best friend's lap nice and toasty. Come meet Eric the Red today, and fall in love!

We're participating today in the Sunday Selfies Blog Hop, hosted by our wonderful friends at The Cat on My Head. Be sure to check out who's hopping along and/or join in on the fun!

  1. Eric, you are a super handsome cat. We hate you were abandoned. Cooper Murphy, especially, knows how bad that can be when you think you are in your forever home. We pray that your new home is paradise. You deserve it! You look like you have a super long tail, as does our Raleigh. Thanks for being a hopper today. 14. People who abandon cats deserve a place in hell. They were wicked and cruel to such a lovely cat!

PS We are having weird image issues and working on it!

  15. Hi Eric! I'm sending my purrs that you find your purrfect furever home soon. You deserve good beans after those losers abandoned you.

Mom bean says she met another Erik the Red when she visited Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada several years ago. He was a famous kitty and served as a rodent control officer on a ship docked in the harbour there. She found him on the dock having a nap, and of course, had to take a photo of him. (Some other beans thought she was crazy when she got down on her belly to get the photo as Erik was hiding). He retired in 2015 after 15 years on the ship, and sadly passed away after a short illness in 2017. His bean thought he was between 20-22 years old at the time.

Me and the mom bean are wishing you a long and healthy life Eric, wherever you may spend your days.
