Today, August 17, is Black Cat Appreciation Day! Some of you may be asking yourselves, "why do black cats even need a special day?" Sadly, the myths and superstitions about black cats being unlucky or "bad" persist for many people. As a result, black kitties are only half as likely to be adopted as cats of other colors. And even black cats fortunate enough to end up in no-kill rescues -- like our new friend Kosmo (isn't she beautiful?) -- wait several months longer to find their forever homes than their other-colored counterparts.
So many people are really missing out, because there are so many beautiful black kitties like Kosmo (and our own sweet Ava, and Angels Gracie and Zoe) who are lucky, sweet, lovable, and full of personality! Come and meet 4 year-old Kosmo at PAWS today. You might just find your new best friend!
