Our handsome and adoptable friend Beau is one of those cats who just exudes calm and peace. Just look at these photos of him. Maybe his nickname should be "Zen?"
Actually, the fact that 4 year old Beau is so delightfully calm and outgoing is a true testament to his nature.
His backstory is simply horrible - he was tossed from a moving car and suffered fractures to his jaw and
ribs. He ran into a wooded area, and it took some kindhearted (and persistent) rescuers months to catch him, but we are glad they did, and that he wound up at PAWS. After a year of recuperation, he is all healed up, and ready to find his happily ever after. Through it all, his shining, sweet, and gentle personality is still what defines him. Beau also happens to get along with other nice
cats and has lived with dogs.
Beau is neutered and current on his vaccinations. While he has tested positive for FIV, it's important to remember this
does not mean he can't live a long and happy life! According to
Best Friends Animal Society, "FIV-positive cats can live normal lives,
both in quality and
duration. They just need to be monitored for infections and dental
issues. But if they’re well cared for, they can be healthy, happy,
wonderful pets." FIV cannot be
passed to other cats through casual contact, or by sharing food, water,
or a
litter box. Nor can it be passed to people or other pet species.
Come meet Beau today, and fall in love!
