Check out our adorable and adoptable friend Otis. He's still pretty new at PAWS, but we can already tell you this young fellow is super friendly, playful, and sweet. And photogenic! 😺
Otis, who is about 10 months old, was found as a stray, taken care of by a good Samaritan, and brought to the shelter to be loved and cared for while he waits to be discovered. He's already a favorite among the PAWS volunteers and staff. Otis is neutered, current on his vaccinations, and negative for FIV and FeLV. He's all dressed up and ready to find his new best friend. ReplyDeleteMy wife and I have five cats--shelter kitties all--and we volunteered to show cats to people in PetSmart until Covid hit.
Year before last, we--I mostly--decided it would be fun to foster kittens because I love kitten energy, and I figured that fostering kittens would insure an endless supply of that energy. After the first day, I wanted to adopt all three of the kittens we had been given, but my wife objected strenuously, so we eventually ended up applying for one of them--the one she wanted. To our surprise, the agency objected to us keeping him because of our age. We could see their point, but we kept pushing to keep him, so after a very long phone conversation, the woman whose decision it was said with frustration, "Just keep him!" We felt glad that we got the cat, but we felt badly that the process was so hard for us and for her. We still support the group because the fact that they made things hard for us proved that they really do put the welfare of cats above the wishes of people, even people who support them financially and by volunteering.
Oh my, Otis is so adorabe! We love his markings.
