(Almost) Wordless Wednesday - Tigger

They say a picture speaks a thousand words. So we're hoping you can see all the wonderful things we see in these snaps of our super sweet and adoptable friend Tigger.

Tigger is about one year old. He came to PAWS after his family moved into a place that did not allow pets. He has lived with children and other cats, and does fine with both. Tigger is neutered, microchipped, current on his vaccinations and negative for FIV and FeLV. He'd be a purrfect addition to almost any home. Come meet Tigger today, and fall in love!

Easy Like Sunday Selfie - Missy

Sometimes memes just lend themselves to a little mashup, and that's certainly the case today. When asked if she'd like to take a few selfies, our adorable pal Missy threw in a couple Easy snaps for good measure. What do you think? Did Missy rock her Easy Like Sunday Selfies, or what?πŸ’–

Found as a stray, three year-old Missy is sweet, friendly and outgoing. She loves being pet, and hanging out and snuggling with her human pals. She seems like she would be okay with other nice kitties, but could also be your one and only. Missy is spayed, microchipped, current on her vaccinations and negative for FIV and FeLV. Valentine's Day is almost here ... come meet Missy today, and fall in love!

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday - Penny Penelope

Adorable. Yup, that's exactly what our adoptable pal, Penny Penelope, is. πŸ’–

This little one, who is just 6 months old, came to PAWS as a stray. We could see from day one that she was sweet. She was also very timid, and nervous about the new sights and sounds that came with being in the shelter. But love and kindness go a long way. Just look at Penny Penelope, hanging out (after a spirited session of "catch the red dot") on Sunday with her buddies in Room 2:

From left to right: Penny Penelope, Houdini (in the rear), Frank (foreground) and Luca

Penny Penelope is spayed, microchipped, current on her vaccinations and negative for FIV and FeLV. And as you can see, she gets along well with other nice cats! She's still slightly nervous around people she doesn't know, but is gaining in confidence with every passing day. We know she will flourish in a forever home! Come meet Penny Penelope (and all the other adorable adoptable PAWS cats) today, and fall in love.

Sunday Selfies: Lapcat Lulu

With the weather forecast here calling for lows in the single digits over the next couple of days, we're loving the idea of a nice warm lap kitty right about now. Okay, we ALWAYS love the idea of a lap kitty, but you get our drift, right? Anyway, our gorgeous pal Lulu happens to be a lap cat extraordinaire, and as you can see, she also takes an awesome selfie!

Lulu doing what she does best!
Lulu is about 1 1/2 years old. Found as a stray, she's spayed, microchipped, current on her vaccinations, and negative for FIV and FeLV. She loves petting, playing and hanging out with her human friends. She gets along with other nice cats, too! Lulu is waiting patiently to find her happily ever after. We have our paws and fingers crossed that she does not have to wait very long.

(Almost) Wordless - Adorable Cat Siblings

These are our new friends, Georgia and Tyler. These cuties would up at PAWS after they were found as strays, and both are discovering that humans are sources of good things like food, love and playtime. And treats, of course.

These 7 month old siblings are friendly, playful and sweet. Georgia, who is the more confident than her brother, is spayed. Tyler is neutered. Both are microchipped, current on their vaccinations and have tested negative for FIV and FeLV. They get along with other nice kitties, and it would be great if they could be adopted together. Two kitties = 2X the love and fun. Come meet Georgia and Tyler today! πŸ˜ΊπŸ’–πŸ˜Έ

Selfies w/Ladycats Luca and Houdini

Take a look at our beautiful new friends, Luca and Houdini. Miss Luca is the cutie with the black nose, and a striking blue right eye. As you can see, her sister Houdini also has a magnificent blue eye, but it's her left one! Pretty cool, huh?

These gentle ladycats haven't been at PAWS for very long, and are still getting used to being here. But they're gaining in confidence with every passing day. 😸 As for personalities ... playful and curious Luca is the more outgoing of the two ... sweet Houdini is more mellow, and enjoys being petted and brushed by her human friends.

Both kitties are under one year old, spayed, microchipped and current on their vaccinations. Houdini has tested positive for FIV, but as we've written before, that does not mean she can't live a long and happy life. According to Best Friends Animal Society, "FIV-positive cats can live normal lives, both in quality and duration. They just need to be monitored for infections and dental issues. But if they’re well cared for, they can be healthy, happy, wonderful pets." We'd love to see Houdini and Luca adopted together. Come meet them, and fall in love!

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday - Nicholas

This is our new friend, Nicholas. Isn't he adorable? Just look at his spiffy tuxedo. And those paws (with black jellybean toes, by the way)! :)

Nicholas is pretty new at PAWS, and still getting used to the sights, sounds and smells of the shelter. But we can already see he's as sweet and gentle as they come. He enjoys being pet, and seems to be open to being friends with other nice cats. Nicholas is about 3 years old. He's waiting patiently to find his forever home. Is it with you?

Timon's Sunday Selfie :)

This is our brand new (we just met him at PAWS today) friend, Timon. We've already learned this handsome guy is a super sweet lapcat who loves people. We also found out he's a veritable pro at taking selfies. Check him out!

Found as a stray, Timon is about 3 years old. He is neutered, microchipped, and current on his vaccinations. Timon has tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), but that does not mean he can't live a long and happy life. According to Best Friends Animal Society, "FIV-positive cats can live normal lives, both in quality and duration. They just need to be monitored for infections and dental issues. But if they’re well cared for, they can be healthy, happy, wonderful pets." Oh, and did we mention the lapcat part? Here he is, sacked out in my lap. 😸

Come meet Timon today, and fall in love!

Happy MEW Year!

Happy Mew Year! Or, maybe we should say Happiest Mew Year, because that's what it is for the many (now former) PAWS cats who will be ringing in 2019 with their new FURever families.

Those of you who've been here before probably recognize some of the faces in this collage of some of our friends who found their happily ever afters in December:

Clockwise from upper left: Millie, Gerdy, Ginger, Rascal, Christina, Tessa, Cindy Lou Hoo,
Leona and Bill all found forever homes in December!

Here's the full roster of the December graduates (50 of them as of the morning of December 31!), in alphabetical order: Ashton and Gilbert (together), Bailey, Bam Bam, Bentley, Bill, Blackjack, Boo, Christina, Cindy Lou Hoo, Claurice, Coco, Crosby, Daisy and Macee (together), Dwight, Filipe and Sophia (together), Finn and Bella (together), Gerdy, Ginger, Gomez, Judy, Kitty, Klaus, Leona, Leopold, Lola, Millie, Mindy and Wendell (together), Mistletoe, Moo Kat, Moose, Mr. Black Cat, Murray and Star (together), Princess Ophelia, Rascal, Santiago, Sergeant Orr, Sparkles, Tabby, Tessa, Tiberius, Tinykat, Umberto, Vinnie and Zulu.

Congratulations to all these graduates, and their new families! We wish them, and all of you, a new year that's filled with an abundance of joy, good health, and love.

And here's a happy tail from Calli's (formerly Sassafrass) family. We think it'll give you another reason to smile as we start 2019:
Thank you for allowing us to adopt the sweetest, goofiest, funny, adorable and loving kitty. We named her Calli and she has really thrown herself into our family. The boys adore her and have been so caring. She has completely found herself a home with us. She is my sleeping buddy. I attached some pictures. I hope you know how much we appreciate what you do for these pets. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts.

Finally, speaking of NEW ... you probably noticed things look a little (okay, a lot) different here on our blog. We LOVE our new header, designed by our wonderfully talented friend Ann at Zoolatry (Thank you, Ann!). Not only is it beautiful, the fact that it features all new cats is also a celebration of the adoption in September of the final PAWS kitty (our buddy Patch) featured on our old header. We hear that Patch is doing great in his forever home, and he is loved an adored.πŸ’–

Happy New Year, everybuddy!
