This is our gentle and beautiful friend, Gerdy.
Those of you who have been following our blog for a long time might remember this sweetheart, who was originally adopted from PAWS in March of 2010.
Sadly, Gerdy's human recently had to move into a nursing home, and was not able to take her sweet kitty with her. So Gerdy finds herself back at the shelter, in search of a new forever home. These situations always break our hearts, but we are glad that PAWS always takes in former residents when their people can no longer care for them.
It's clear to us that Gerdy was loved and well-cared for all these years. She is as beautiful as ever, and still possesses the same sweet disposition. She loves attention and being pet. She gets along with other nice cats, but would also be fine as your one and only. Gerdy is so ready to find her new happily ever after. Is it with you?
Gerdy is purdy (or should I say purrdy?).
ReplyDeleteOh Gerdy, you're so beautiful. I hope you find another furrever home. I bet your previous adopter misses you so much.
ReplyDeleteHow sad that Gerdy couldn't accompany her human to the nursing home. My human was lucky and was able to find a place that let her dad have his cat Smokey until he passed away. I wish more places understood the importance of having pet friendly policies.
ReplyDeleteOh Gerdy, you are such a pretty girl. So sad that you couldn't go with your owner. We so hope that you find another really nice owner.
ReplyDeleteThat's very sad sweet Gerdy but you are a sweet and beautiful girl so you should be home again soon. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteOh Gerdy, that is so sad that happened to you. I hear of many cats this happens to as their parents age. It is a tragedy for the pet parents too. They miss their loved pets terribly.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet love she is. We're sending our purrs to her, that she finds (another) forever home soon. ♥
ReplyDeleteHow sad that Gerdy's human couldn't care for her anymore. We're purring Gerdy finds a new home soon.
ReplyDeletewhat a beautiful girl. it is a shame that more nursing/retirement homes can't figure out a way to help residents keep their pets since we know it does so much for people to have them.
ReplyDeleteWe are very sad for Gerdy - this is a situation we can certainly understand and sympathize with. We hope she finds her new home quickly.
ReplyDeleteI'm sad that Gerdy lost her human. It's always so sad when this happens.
ReplyDeleteI hope she finds a forever home and soon.
Have a purrfect Wordless Wednesday. ♥
Something I think is really rough, is leaving those behind when we have to go into care. I hope Gurdy finds another happy long term family very soon.

My heart breaks for Gerdy and her human. She is such a beautiful kitty with sweet smile and fluffy fur. I hope she find her new home very soon. xo
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful Tortie you are Gerdy!
ReplyDeleteOh Gerdy we are so sad to see you had to lose your human. WE pray that a young family will adopt you and you have your forever and ever home like you so deserve.
ReplyDeleteThat is sad that the nursing home doesn't allow for furry companions. Gerdy must be very sad to have to part from her human furr-iend. But she is in good 'PAWS' until a new family comes for her. Pets for Gerdy. -Valentine (& Mom) of Noir Kitty Mews
ReplyDeleteThis breaks our hearts. It's such a shame those homes don't permit owners to bring cats. Gerdy is precious looking and we hope she'll be rehomed quickly.

Gerdy is beautiful. It is so sad for both her and her human that they had to be parted.
ReplyDeleteShe is SO beautiful. It's incredibly sad that she's back at PAWS but it's wonderful that she had a safe place to go.
ReplyDeleteI love Gerdy's face Gerdy. It's sad when the human has to leave behind the cat when they go to a nursing home, but I'm glad that Gerdy was returned so she could be properly cared for.

I am so glad that PAWS takes back former adoptees whose owners can no longer care for them. That means that beautiful, sweet kitties like Gerdy can find their new forever home with their new family. Purrs and prayers to Gerdy!
ReplyDeleteI think I've talked before about the time I pet sat professionally and one of our clients had to give up her cats (who I'd been caring for). I imagine that was harder for her than her physical limitations. It seems like people and their cats should be supported when the cats are needed most. And fewer cats in shelters too!
ReplyDeleteI love this picture What a girl and such sadness. You WILL find another home Gerdy and your Mum will miss you.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the Wednesday Pet Parade!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty kitty!
