Sweet Mercedes

Beautiful Mercedes has been at PAWS for five years, making her one of the shelter's longest-term residents.

She's sweet and gentle, and loves other kitties, catnip and sunpuddles.

Now all this gorgeous house panther needs is a nice, quiet forever home, with a person to call her very own.

Mercedes is about 6 1/2 years old, spayed, up to date on all of her vaccinations, and has tested negative for FIV and FeLV.

  1. Mercedes is strikingly beautiful. We cannot believe that she has not found a perfect forever family yet. Such patience deserves a special reward and we ask the Universe to send her a wonderful, loving family that will cherish, nurture, pamper and keep her safe all the days of her life.

  8. I think you PAWS humans are awesome, but five years is way too long for a kitty to spend with you! I am sending lots of adoption purrs to Mercedes.

  9. Mercedes is shy and unfortunately gets overlooked by adoptors. She really likes being gently brushed and petted. She's content at PAWS but she deserves love in her very own forever home.

  10. Mercedes, you are such a sweet, pretty girl. Are you too comfortable at PAWS to leave there? But you sure enjoy your own forever home...we hope you'll find it very soon xoxo

  24. It makes me sad that this precious kitty has spent so much time in the shelter. However, I know she is loved and well cared for. At one of the shelters I used to volunteer at, we had a mama dog whose puppies were all adopted, and she remained at the shelter for a long time - I don't remember exactly how long, but maybe 8-10 years...one of the employees then took her home and fostered her. She was a different dog in a home. In the shelter she could be aggressive especially toward cats. At her home, she was best buddies with their cat and other dogs. It was heartwarming when "Maxie" got to live the good life and I wish the same for Mercedes.

  26. What a beautiful black cat. We had one when I was a kid that looked just like her named Spooky. She showed up on our porch one year on Halloween night and refused to leave.
I hope she finds a wonderful home with humans that spoil and enjoy her.

  37. What a sweetie. We hope she finds someone to love her. Do you have a photo board at the shelter with photos of your cats and their stories? Our SPCA does, and they often find many people will then choose a special cat like Mercedes.

Give her a pat from us.
