Thankful Thursday - The Love of Friends

Since it's Thankful Thursday, we wanted to take the opportunity to thank all of you -- our amazing friends -- for your outpouring of sympathy, purrs and prayers since our sweet mancat Sammy departed for Rainbow Bridge.

Thank you Alasandra, the Cats and a Dog for this beautiful image of Sammy at the Bridge
The mom and the dad find the mornings and right before bedtime to be the most difficult, since these are the times when Sammy was always the most active.  Brofur Moosey, a very sensitive cat, is noticeably out of sorts.  He clearly misses Sammy, but we know he will be okay with time (just as we all will be).  Until we are, we take much comfort in the mantle of your care, compassion and love.  Thank you.  We appreciate you all.

  6. We are still thinking of you - we all know the sadness when one of our beloved cats goes to Rainbow Bridge.
It takes time to come to terms with your loss but your wonderful memories of Sammy will be with you always.

  9. We keep sending you tons of purrs and warm thoughts. It breaks my heart to imagine how badly Moosey misses his brother. We hope your hearts will be filled more with happy memories some day.

  10. We don't think we ever really "get over" our losses. Someone around the CB, a few years ago, posted that we become accustomed to the absence of the Being. That was well-stated, and absolutely true, we think.

Continued soft purrs to you all.

  13. The Joy that a cat brings you is worth the pain in the end.

    Proverbs 14:13
Even in laughter the heart may ache, and joy may end in sorrow.

    Thinking of you and Tracey!

  15. LP misses Tulip most when she paints since that was when Tulip lay on her feet. And she misses Tulip in the early mornings since she was always the first to greet LP. We understand the ache in your heart at this time. And dear Moosey, Leo misses Tulip too. It will get better for all of you, for all of us :) In the meantime, we send you lots of love and hugs.

  16. Large rumbly purrs still heading over the pond to you from all of us.

If there's a blanket that Sammy used still around, then Moosey might find comfort with it?

    Sending love

  34. I think our hearts never fully recover from losing a loved one. Maybe Moosey would like another companion at some point? Our mom brought home a kitten (Toby) a couple months after losing Kimba. Lumpy (who was at least 11 at the time) and the kitten became fast friends immediately. It was so touching to see them together, sleeping, playing, they were inseparable. Purrs, you are in our hearts, dear friends.

  35. That's really sweet of you guys. I know you, Mom Tracy and Moosey are still missing him so much. We do so too, but Sammy lived a long fulfilling life. I think he's as happy as a cat with an endless supply of catnip.

I love that portrait, by the way.

  36. It is fortunate to have friends and community for support during loss. We know you all miss Sammy very much - and Moosey must be missing him in his own special way.

  39. PepiSmartDog:
Bringing you a Sammy update for over the Rainbow Bridge. Sammy's settled in wonderfully and joined a number of our fun clubs.
He can't stop drinking the chocolate-chicken-clotted cream-shakes. Lucky we can eat anything and do anything and we never worry about putting on weight. No jumping on and off scales for us! BOL!
Remember: you will be a forever family again...not just yet!
Thank you for joining in Thankful Thursday BlogHop too!
Look forward to seeing what your up to in your next post. :=o)

  40. Those we have loved remain in our hearts forever...think of that when you get too sad, because that is where Sammy would want to be forever. Oh, we so look forward to meeting you at BlogPaws and giving you a hug in person!
