Selfies by Mickey

Look who raised his paw to volunteer for this week's Sunday Selfies Blog Hop. It's our super handsome and super gentle friend Mickey!

 

 

This lovable 1½-year-old boy first caught the eye of a concerned neighbor who noticed him waiting outside night after night. Sadly, his (sorry excuse for a human) former owner had put him outdoors permanently -- and during that time, Mickey badly injured his paw. A trip to the vet revealed a fractured, infected toe that needed to be removed.

 

 

But Mickey proved just how resilient he is. He healed beautifully, and now he’s ready to find the loving home he has always deserved. Quiet and a touch shy at first, Mickey blossoms into a purring sweetheart once he feels safe. He enjoys gentle pets, gets along with friendly cats, and has the softest, sweetest presence.

(Almost) Wordless Athena

This absolutely beautiful kitty is our awesome and adoptable friend Athena.💖

Athena showed up one day on a family’s deck, peeking through their sliding glass door as if she knew she’d find kindness inside. A little shy at first, she quickly warmed up -- and once she did, her sweet personality pawsitively shined! She would’ve stayed there forever if not for a family allergy.

Just one year old, this gorgeous tortoiseshell is outgoing, communicative, and loves her human pals. She’s not a fan of other cats, though, and will need to be some lucky adopter's one and only princess. Athena is microchipped, vaccinated, spayed, and ready for her furever home. Could it be yours?

Best Buddy Selfies: Bingo and Terra

If you’re searching for a ready-made duo of awesome and adorable young cats, look no further than Bingo and Terra. These best buddies met at PAWS and have been inseparable ever since.

 

 

Bingo, a one-year-old fluffy grey sweetheart, has already had quite the adventure. This gorgeous dude was found in the utility room of an apartment complex here in Connecticut. According to his microchip, his home was in New York City! His previous adopters shared that he "slipped out during a trash run," but after that initial call, they ghosted our staff. 😠 Luckily, Bingo’s gentle personality, love of pets, and playful spirit quickly won over everyone at the shelter -- especially his new pal, Terra.

 

Six-month-old Terra was a PAWS kitty before he was even born (via his mama, Thumbelina, who has since found her own happily ever after 💖). Terra is outgoing, sweet, and endlessly playful. He was adopted once by a first-time pet family, but through no fault of his own, was returned after just one month. Back at the shelter, he found comfort, confidence, and friendship in Bingo, and the two have been wrestling, chasing toys, and curling up together ever since.

Now these two best friends are ready for the next chapter -- together (they must be adopted together). Both boys are microchipped, vaccinated, neutered, and bursting with affection for their forever family. Bingo and Terra can’t wait to meet you!

(Almost) Wordless Booka

Booka may be new at PAWS, but she’s already winning hearts left and right. This beautiful black-and-white girl has quickly become a favorite among volunteers and staff, and it’s easy to see why.

Affectionate, outgoing, and wonderfully gentle, Booka leans in for hugs and melts into your arms. She loves being held, happily soaks up attention, and purrs like she’s known you forever. She also gets along well with other cats!

 

 

Booka, who is about 1 1/2 years old, comes fully ready for her next chapter: she’s spayed, microchipped, and current on all her vaccinations. Now all she needs is a family to adore her as much as she’ll adore them.

Selfies by Nari

This is our sweet, beautiful, and adoptable housepanther friend Nari. Just look at her bright eyes and glorious midnight fur … isn’t she stunning?

 

As gorgeous as she is on the outside, Nari’s inner glow is just as bright. This sweet girl was found outside as a tiny kitten, then lovingly nursed back to health and cherished for four wonderful years. When her person could no longer give her the care she deserved, they made the difficult but loving choice to help her find a new, quiet home where she can flourish.

Four-year-old Nari is an affectionate, curious, snuggly sweetheart who loves people -- she happily offers hugs, gentle head bumps, and all the warm snuggles you could want. While she absolutely adores humans, she is pretty cautious around other cats. She previously lived with a not-so-nice feline roommate and was often kept separate, so her initial nervousness at PAWS makes perfect sense. In a nutshell: we're not sure yet how she feels about other kitties, but we know she loves people!

(Almost) Wordless Scotti

If you thought bobtails were only found on bunnies, think again -- because today’s spotlight is shining on our adorable and adoptable friend Scotti. Just look at this little sweetheart! 

 

Scotti’s story began when a kind-hearted human noticed this super friendly kitty visiting his yard every day for a meal. He assumed she must belong to someone, because she was so gentle and affectionate. As time went on, she kept returning, always grateful for a snack and a little attention. Then one day, she disappeared … only to return a few weeks later with four little kittens in tow!

 

When the good Samaritan opened his home, in walked Scotti and her babies.

 

 

This one-year-old beauty had a tail injury that required a little surgery, so now she sports the most adorable bobtail, which in all honesty just adds to her charm! Scotti loves people, enjoys the company of other cats, and would be wonderful in a home with children. She’s snuggly, extroverted, gentle, and would be the purrfect member of almost any family. Scotti is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, and ready to find her happily ever after. This week’s fabulous selfies are brought to you by our big, handsome, and incredibly adoptable friend Edward!

 

 

Edward, who’s about 2 years old, came to PAWS after his previous family was evicted and he and his furry housemates were left behind. We can only imagine how confusing that must have been for such a gentle soul. But through it all, Edward’s heart has stayed wide open -- he’s affectionate, gentle, playful, and a truly snuggly dude.

With his soft, medium-length orange fur, big round eyes, cute pink nose, and magnificently floofy tail, Edward is kinda sorta purrfect. He’s also a total sweetheart who loves people and is always ready for a good cuddle session or some playtime with his favorite toys.

Sister Selfies: Zoey and Zsa Zsa

Sometimes the most wonderful cats just need a little extra time to show the world who they really are. That’s certainly the case with Zoey and Zsa Zsa, two gentle and beautiful sisters who are now ready to find the loving forever home they deserve!

Zoey, Zsa Zsa, and their brother Zack (who has already been adopted) were born in a feral cat colony. Because they weren’t captured until they were about 4 months old, they didn’t have much experience with people at first. When they arrived at PAWS, they were pretty unsure about these strange new humans. But thanks to the love, patience, and care of the volunteers and staff, they’ve learned that people can be pretty wonderful after all.

Zoey

While Zoey and Zsa Zsa are still a little cautious in new situations (and with new folks), they’re blossoming more every day. Once they get to know you, their sweet and gentle personalities truly shine. They love being pet, playing, and just checking out the scene from the window of their room. These two sisters have always been together, and it would be absolutely wonderful if they could be adopted as a pair. But they’d also do beautifully in a home with another friendly, welcoming kitty companion. Zoey and Zsa Zsa are about 1 1/2 years old, spayed, microchipped, and current on their vaccinations. Meet our handsome new friend, Catcher -- and wow, is he ever a stunner! This sleek black house panther is as charming as he is gorgeous, with big, expressive paws that inspired his perfect name. Just look at those mitts!

 

Catcher came from a litter born to a feral mom, but it didn’t take long for his rescuer to realize that this boy was special. Friendly, affectionate, and totally people-oriented, Catcher was clearly meant to be someone’s beloved forever friend.

He’s about 8 months old, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all his vaccinations. Catcher is playful, snuggly, and full of personality -- the kind of cat who will make you smile every single day. He also gets along beautifully with other nice cats.

We hope you're ready to be charmed, because our lovely, affectionate friend Winnie B. Mason is the next shining star of the Sunday Selfies Blog Hop!

 

This beautiful tuxedo lady -- who comes complete with an adorable stripe down the middle of her face -- found her way to PAWS as a very pregnant mama cat. She went into foster care with one of the rescue's amazing foster parents, who also happens to be a teacher. Wouldn't you know, when Winnie B. gave birth to her kittens in July, they were affectionately nicknamed the"Back to School" litter. 💕

 

Winnie B. was an incredibly attentive and loving mother, and now she’s ready for her turn to find a forever family. Just 1¼ years old, his ladycat is super sweet, gentle, and adores people of all ages. She also gets along beautifully with other cats. Winnie B.
