Petunia, Looking for a Home

If you’re looking for a lap cat, then Petunia is your girl! Petunia (aka “Toonsie”) first came to PAWS nearly a year ago after someone found her in a carrier by a dumpster. Why anyone would abandon this sweet and beautiful (just look at those bright green eyes and that cute pink nose!) cat is way is beyond us. But we’re glad she ended up at PAWS, where she will be loved until she finds her forever home.

As we mentioned, Toonsie is a big-time lap cat. She visibly perks up whenever any of her favorite volunteers go anywhere near the chair in Cat Room 2. And as soon as a lap becomes available, our buddy is quick to jump right up and settle in. She also really enjoys being pet and brushed.

Petunia isn’t very fond of being picked up. Nor does she like other cats. But we know that she would absolutely blossom in a quieter home without other pets or young children, and that she would make the purrfect best friend for a quiet couple (or single!), some empty nesters, or a retiree.

Toonsie is about 5 years old, and is spayed and current on all of her vaccinations. She has also tested negative for FIV and FeLV. Won’t you consider giving Petunia the forever home she deserves and so desires? You (and your lap) will be happy you did. :)

(Thank you to our friend (and fellow PAWS volunteer) Maggie for letting us use the second picture. Check out her great blog here. And BIG thanks to our friends at Pet Blogs United for featuring Petunia in today's "Foster Friday" post!)

Look at those stunning eyes. And that delicate pink nose! Toonsie, we'll be purrayin' that the perfect furever home is soon to be in your future.

And as to the cretins who left you at the dumpster... well, it's soon to be tax day... may the IRS disallow all their deductions.

Oh we do hope the sweetie will find a loving home. How awful to be dumped in a carrier! What if no one noticed and she would die a slow death since she can't get out to look for food herself? Too, too awful to contemplate.

Petunia, you are absolutely beautiful. I love your pretty pink nose and beautiful green eyes.

The people that abandoned you (frankly put) suck. I'm so glad you're at PAWS now, because you are now safe and will be very well cared for. And they do a great job finding homes for adult kittens.

We are purr-aying very hard this Pesach that Petunia and Toonsie will find a fur-ever home very, very soon. We feel very bad that at this time of year, when some of us kitties have so much and can celebrate the Seder with our human families, there are so many homeless kitties (and d-o-g-s, as well) that have no place of their own. It makes us very sad - but it gives us hope, to know that there are people like you who care and are trying to help them.
Chag sameach to you and all the kitties you are looking after.

What a sweet face - Petunia sounds like a wonderful cat, and I am sure she will make a quiet home a happier place.
It's hard to imagine how someone could do something like throw a sweet cat into a dumpster :(. We're glad she came to you at PAWS until she finds her forever home.
